Aarsha Vani (Voice of Sanatana Dharma) April 2019 Volume: 5 Issue: 03 GURUVĀṆI Every individual has four mothers – 1. One who gave birth 2. Mother Earth 3. Mother Cow and 4. Motherland. It is the duty and responsibility of everyone to venerate, comfort, and protect all these four mothers. Among this, Gōmāta i.e. Mother Cow is being looked and treated from a religion view. But, it is important to understand that Gōmāta is the wealth and heritage of this country. No other cow in the world has the special and distinct characteristics of the cows of Bhārata. Hence, every individual, just as they receive benefits from cows, should exert themselves to protect the cows, irrespective of their religious affinity. – Samavedam Shanmukha Sarma. • Rama, Sita, Hanuman
Hinduism Rama, Sita, Hanuman Rama, Sita, Hanuman Summary: Rama, Sita, and Hanuman are central, divine characters in the Ramayana. Rama is both worshipped and admired as a righteous king and a fully human incarnation of Lord Vishnu. During a Rama Navami Celebration, Rama's birth is celebrated and his wedding to Sita is reenacted. Families with daughters of marriageable age serve as sponsors for the divine wedding, which is also a chance to pray for the good marriage of their daughters in the future. In the Bharatiya Temple in Troy, Michigan, the Hindu community gathers for Rama Navami, the annual festival celebrating Lord Rama. Bharatiya literally means the temple of India, highlighting the fact that this a pan-Hindu temple, not dedicated to a specific deity. Modern in its design, Bharatiya set on a wooded hillside in the northern suburbs of Detroit. Four huge arching wooden trusses support the roof of the carpeted sanctuary where more than three hundred people are sitting for the “Wedding of Rama and Sita,” the divine couple who are hero and heroine of the beloved Ramayana. The images of Rama and Sita have been brought forward on the raised platform which serves as the altar of the temple. Rama is both worshipped and admired as a righteous king and a fully human incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Today Rama’s birth is celebrated and his wedding to Sita is re-enacted. Two families from the community are seated with the priests near the altar which bears the small images of Rama in a yellow silk dhoti and Sita in red silk sari and pearls.

  • 2021-Ramanavami-Puja-Vidhi
2021 Rama Navami Lord Rama was born on Navami Tithi during Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Each year this day is celebrated as birthday of Lord Rama. Lord Rama was born during Madhyahna period which is middle of Hindu day. Madhyahna which prevails for six Ghatis (approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes) is the most auspicious time to perform Rama Navami Puja rituals. The mid-point of Madhyahna marks the moment when Shri Rama was born and temples symbolize this moment as birth moment of Lord Rama. The chanting of Shri Rama and celebration reaches its peak during this time. Due to widespread use of western clock and Gregorian calendar people assume 12 p.m. as Madhyahna moment. This could have been correct if sunrise and sunset occur exactly at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. respectively but at most places sunrise and sunset timings are different from six O'clock. Hence the exact time to celebrate birthday of Lord Rama falls between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for most Indian cities. DrikPanchang.com list Hindu midday moment for all cities and this moment should be used to mark the birth of Shri Rama. Ayodhya is birthplace of Lord Rama and Rama Navami celebrations in Ayodhya are remarkable. Devotees come to Ayodhya from far-flung places. After taking holy dip into river Sarayu Devotees visit Rama temple to participate in birthday celebrations. Eight Prahar fasting is suggested during Rama Navami. Which means devotes should observe the fast from sunrise to sunrise. Rama Navami Vrat can be observed in three different ways, casual (नैमित्तिक) -which can be observed without any cause, continual (नन配य) - which can be observed throughout life without any desire and desirable (का륍य) - which can be observed to fulfill any desire.

  • Sri Rama Navami
Sri Rama Navami On Chaitra Sukla Navami (the ninth day of the bright half of Chaitra) 'Sree Ramanavami' is celebrated. Sree Rama was born on this day and years later on the same day Rama married Sita. 'Sree Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsav' (wedding) is performed in the abode Sitarama Temple, Bhadrachalam, Khammam District, Andhra Pradesh with great tradition and Bhakti. On behalf of Andhra Pradesh Government, Chief Minister with his wife visits the Kalyana Mahotsav and offers Silk Clothes and Pearls as Talambralu (auspicious) to the God and Goddess. The whole of this celebration is telecasted live in Doordarshan. "Wherever four Hindus live, Rama and Sita will be there" so said Swami Vivekananda, one of the foremost harbingers of modern national renaissance of Bharat. The reverse also is equally true - wherever Rama and Sita live, the people there will remain and live as Hindus. Every hill and rivulet of Bharat bears the imprint of the holy feet of Rama and Sita. Sri Rama reigns supreme to this day in the hearts of our people, cutting across all barriers of province, language, caste or sect. Even the tribes living in isolated valleys and jungles have names like Mitti-Ram and Patthar-Ram. In some other tribes, every name carries the proud suffix of Ram, such as Lutthu Ram, Jagadev Ram, etc. In many northern parts of Bharat mutual greetings take the form of Jay Ramjee Ki. Sri Rama has become so much identified with all the good and great and virile qualities of heroic manhood that expressions such as 'Us me Ram nahi hai' (there is no Rama in him) - meaning that a person has lost all manliness and worth - have become common usage.
