Enjoy Design have submitted a detailed planning application for a large city centre regional headquarters. Flexibility in the core location and design allows full plate occupation or sub-let into as many as four individual 5,000ft² tenancies for future use and adaptability.

The façade is highly glazed for aesthetic effect but maintains a 50:50 solid to void ratio though the integration of laminate interlayers providing bronzed and anodised effects within the glazed units. The target is to achieve a minimum BREEAM Excellent rating. Client Wykeland Group Cost £15 million Status Phase 1 & 2 Completed

The award winning C4DI Innovation Centre at Hull on behalf of the Wykeland Group. The development includes a 22,000sqft digital innovation hub building and 70,000sqft of office. The scheme also includes the reuse of the historic dry dock for an outside public amphitheatre and performance space. . The energy conscious design combines passive ventilation techniques, high insulation values and low air permeability values. The refurbishment & conversion of the grade II listed A&B Mills at Dean Clough in Halifax into 50,000sqft of office accommodation for Covea Insurance. The mill was built in the 1840’s and was one of the largest carpet mills in the world at the time.

The shell works included a complete new roof construction, strengthening of the existing timber floors, installation of two glazed lift core towers and new timber double glazed windows. The proposal sought to demolish the unsympathetic 1970’s extensions with a view to restoring the mill to its former glory. The new build element has been purposefully designed to be respectful in both massing and its use of materials. Through an investigative and collaborative approach with key stakeholders, the Ward Councillors and the Local Authority Planning Team, our client’s intention is to deliver a high quality residential environment that compliments the existing adjacent housing creating a safe and sustainable development. Conceived as a revenue generating development to allow on-going maintenance of the Grade 1 listed Church of St. Peter's (now Leeds Minster) this development provides 37 residential units, 4,000ft² commercial and church office accommodation within new build and refurbished buildings to the south of the church.

Enjoy Design have been instructed to prepare an outline masterplan for the site of the former Kirklees College in Huddersfield. The proposal seeks to demolish a large portion of the existing buildings, retaining only the eastern part of the listed Block F.

New buildings are proposed to be a mix of residential, hotel, office and retail. The footprint and massing of these new buildings have been carefully designed to respect the historical grain of the site, restoring avenues which help create transparency and lines of site. The hub accommodates a range of facilities including a national level outdoor athletics stadium, indoor sports arena, state of the art fitness studios and indoor specialist athletics training facilities. The changing spaces cater for a vast array of users from private members to national teams and coaches. Part of the delivery team led by Clegg Construction for the refurbishment of the existing Grade II Listed Mathematics Building at the University of Leeds city campus.

The project comprises of the replacement of the original single glazed Crittal windows, roof replacement and full internal strip- out and new fit-out over five floors. Electric vehicle charging, Level Detection, Energy efficient regenerative lifts, low energy lighting and Carbon fibre strengthening have all been developed around this project.

Situated upon Ainley Top with panoramic views of the Calderdale Valley, this proposed manufacturing and engineering facility will provide flexible manufacturing & engineering space as well as office accommodation.

The massing of the building has been designed to be sympathetic to its surroundings. This was achieved by cutting the building into the landscape so as to reduce the visual impact from all directions.

Enjoy co-ordinated new planning and building regulation applications alongside detailed construction information to form a new data hall and ancillary plant and tenant accommodation. A full building and fit out Revit model was produced to IFC BIM Level 2 with Level 3 elements and will be utilised in the buildings future for the integration of a Data Centre Information Management system.

Enjoy Design was appointed by The Ogden Group to undertake full architectural services from inception to completion. Located on the existing Birstall Centre 27 retail park between Birstall and Gildersome.

The 16,500sqft steel framed retail unit with associated car parking and landscaping was let to Smyth’s Toys. Enjoy Design was novated to HACS Construction who was the main contractor in the delivery of the building.

The refurbishment of Leeming House involved the removal of existing partitions, finishes and fittings that have all been added over the last few decades and are perceived to be of detriment to the buildings overall character.

The design interventions have required a ‘light touch’ to bring out the best features of the existing building whilst updating the interiors to meet the current office market requirements. Contained in No.1 Whitehall Road office building, the scheme acknowledged the historical working patterns of our client whilst reshaping the office culture to economise on the required net lettable space minimising capital expenditure and life cycle costs. The internal spaces included a bespoke reception area with feature lighting & walnut panelling, a conference and exhibition facility, cellular offices, open plan areas and a soundproof recording suite.

Enjoy was commissioned to prepare concept designs for a new reception to compliment their new company branding exercise. The new meeting facilities includes 8 person meeting rooms, interview/client booths, 60 person conference & event space and a large video conference room.

The architectural commission includes building regulation negotiation and production information sufficient to tender to Design & Build contractors. As part of the technical specification of the meeting rooms a high acoustic rating had to be detailed to maintain a high level of privacy.

Client Overfinch Cost £300,000 Status Completed 2014 Size 3,000sqft

New boutique car showroom fit out for the bespoke Range Rover tuning specialists Overfinch. This minimal contemporary scheme was designed to display the high end vehicles with dramatic lighting effects and a play on the use of reflections. Back-lit LED ‘halo’ lighting and polished surfaces reinforced to the client’s aspirations for a unique customer experience.

This project is one of a number of boutique showrooms we have designed for Overfinch including a stand for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2013.

The total area under consideration is approximately 260 hectares (650 acres) and has been prepared as part of a detailed Local Development Framework Representation submission to assist in trying to secure future land allocation. Whilst this proposal is at the early stages of the Planning Process, and by no means guaranteed, if successful will secure allocation for approximately 850 homes, along with 350,000ft2 of commercial development, consisting of office, education, leisure and a mix of community facilities with substantial wider improvements to the surrounding extensive open woodland. The masterplan proposes the retention of a vast majority of the existing streetscape along Humber Street, new residential development to the north of Humber Street and mixed uses opposite The Dry Dock development site. The design strategy looks to retain the original building structures and remove later ‘warehouse’ extensions to the rear of Humber Street. Where new building structures are proposed these will be designed in accordance with a restrained palette of materials that complement the historic building context but in a contemporary architectural style. An important part of the masterplan strategy is the proposals for the pedestrianisation of Humber Street and part of Humber Dock Street. Enjoy Design has worked with Hallam Land Management to develop a number of residential masterplan projects including 168 dwellings at Coxhoe, 182 dwellings in Batley and 200 dwellings at Oxclose in Sheffield. The masterplan layouts are produced as part of the outline planning applications for the individual sites.

Each masterplan looks to provide much needed family accommodation in the various areas. The individual developments aim to deliver high quality residential environments that complement the existing context creating a safe & sustainable developments.
