2012 - 2017 ABOUT US Since our inception over 5 years ago the practice has been involved in a wide range of exciting projects in all sectors. Over this time we have experienced continued sustainable growth in what has been a challenging market. Our goal, to achieve 'understated excellence' for our clients achieved through a collaborative and ‘enjoyable’ design process. Enjoy Design is highly professional in its approach, treats every project with great respect and values the financial expenditure as if it were its own. Our experience in design and delivery covers a diverse range of projects for a distinguished client base in sectors including Commercial Office, Private and Commercial Residential, Sports & Leisure, Retail, Car Parks, Masterplanning, Industrial and Education. Based in Leeds City Centre, our philosophy is founded on a shared goal to provide a hands-on, Director led personal service in a predominately commercial market. We hold a practice ethos of approaching each project with the same high level of enthusiasm and dedication to deliver the best possible service for our clients whether it’s a small refurbishment or a large mixed-use masterplan. ABOUT US Enjoy Design at The Old Brewery [Project Title], [Location] [Document Title] SELECTED PROJECTS The Dry Dock concept sketch, Hull [Project Title], [Location] [Document Title] NO.2 WHITEHALL ROAD, LEEDS Client Town Centre Securities Value £19.5 million Status Detailed Planning Enjoy Design have submitted a detailed planning application for a large city centre regional headquarters. Flexibility in the core location and design allows full plate occupation or sub-let into as many as four individual 5,000ft² tenancies for future use and adaptability. The façade is highly glazed for aesthetic effect but maintains a 50:50 solid to void ratio though the integration of laminate interlayers providing bronzed and anodised effects within the glazed units. The target is to achieve a minimum BREEAM Excellent rating. HULL CIVIC SOCIETY C4DI @ THE DRY DOCK, HULL Client Wykeland Group Cost £15 million Status Phase 1 & 2 Completed The award winning C4DI Innovation Centre at Hull on behalf of the Wykeland Group. The development includes a 22,000sqft digital innovation hub building and 70,000sqft of office. The scheme also includes the reuse of the historic dry dock for an outside public amphitheatre and performance space. The energy conscious design combines passive ventilation techniques, high insulation values and low air permeability values. DAWA SINGH, J.F.FINNEGAN DEAN CLOUGH A & B MILLS, HALIFAX Client Covea Insurance Value £10 million Status Complete Size 50,000sqft The refurbishment & conversion of the grade II listed A&B Mills at Dean Clough in Halifax into 50,000sqft of office accommodation for Covea Insurance. The mill was built in the 1840’s and was one of the largest carpet mills in the world at the time. The shell works included a complete new roof construction, strengthening of the existing timber floors, installation of two glazed lift core towers and new timber double glazed windows. The fit out included new raised access floors throughout and exposed mechanical supply & extract system. COMMERCIAL Dean Clough A&B Mills, Halifax [Project Title], [Location] [Document Title] CTP have worked with Enjoy Design on the development of the new PRS project at Granary Wharf, Leeds, for which a consent was recently received. The development solution designed by Enjoy has maximised the potential of “ “ this sensitive and complex site. CTP have found Enjoy to be creative, practical and responsive to both commercial requirements, and those of stakeholders, blending all parties interests to realise a very satisfying and delightful project which now has wide support. DAVID TOPHAM, CEO, CTP LIMITED MUSTARD WHARF @ GRANARY WHARF, LEEDS Client U & I Investments (UK) Ltd / CTP Limited Value £50 million Status Detailed Planning Approval Size 220,000 sqft The development proposals are for the creation of three separate PRS residential buildings with A3, B1, D1 and car parking facilities at the ground floor levels. The scheme will deliver 250 apartments with a mix of 1, 2 & 3 bed units. The prominent site located adjacent to the Leeds Liverpool Canal in the Holbeck Conservation Area of Leeds, is well connected to Leeds Railway Station and the city centre via the new southern rail entrance. The proposals have been developed in collaboration with the Tower Works development team who plan to develop the adjoining Tower Works site. RESIDENTIAL Mustard Wharf Residential, Leeds [Project Title], [Location] [Document Title] HORSFORTH MILLS, LEEDS Client Rhodes Asset Management Value £12 million Status Full Planning Approval Size 90 residential units 90 apartment conversion of a historical mill within the Horsforth and Woodside Conservation Area. The proposal sought to demolish the unsympathetic 1970’s extensions with a view to restoring the mill to its former glory. The new build element has been purposefully designed to be respectful in both massing and its use of materials. Through an investigative and collaborative approach with key stakeholders, the Ward Councillors and the Local Authority Planning Team, our client’s intention is to deliver a high quality residential environment that compliments the existing adjacent housing creating a safe and sustainable development. RESIDENTIAL Horsforth Mills Residential Site Plan [Project Title], [Location] [Document Title] ST. PETERS CHURCH APARTMENTS, LEEDS Client Yelcon Value £2.2 million Status Completed 2016 Size 16 luxury residential units Conceived as a revenue generating development to allow on-going maintenance of the Grade 1 listed Church of St. Peter's (now Leeds Minster) this development provides 37 residential units, 4,000ft² commercial and church office accommodation within new build and refurbished buildings to the south of the church. Phase 1 has been re-worked from its original approval by Enjoy to create 16 high quality 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments of generous proportions maximising daylight and in turn views of the Minster and The Calls conservation area. RESIDENTIAL St. Peters Church Apartments PARKLANDS, MOOR ALLERTON Client Camstead Limited Value £7 million Status On Site Size 29 detached houses Enjoy Design was commissioned by Camstead Limited to design and produce technical details for 29 detached houses on a greenfield site on the outskirts of Leeds. Eight bespoke house designs were produced for this luxury and high quality residential development. Ground Floor RESIDENTIAL Moortown Masterplan MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT, HUDDERSFIELD Client Confidential Value c. £60 million Status Pre App Planning Submission Size 420,000 sqft Enjoy Design have been instructed to prepare an outline masterplan for the site of the former Kirklees College in Huddersfield. The proposal seeks to demolish a large portion of the existing buildings, retaining only the eastern part of the listed Block F. New buildings are proposed to be a mix of residential, hotel, office and retail. The footprint and massing of these new buildings have been carefully designed to respect the historical grain of the site, restoring avenues which help create transparency and lines of site. STEVE FLETCHER, HEAD OF CAPITAL PROJECTS MIDDLESBROUGH COUNCIL MIDDLESBROUGH SPORTS VILLAGE Client Willmott Dixon Construction Value £18 million Status Complete Size 52,000ft2 In 2013, Enjoy Design were commissioned by Willmott Dixon Construction via the Scape Framework, on behalf of Middlesbrough Council, to design and deliver this sub- regional exemplar sports centre. The hub accommodates a range of facilities including a national level outdoor athletics stadium, indoor sports arena, state of the art fitness studios and indoor specialist athletics training facilities. The changing spaces cater for a vast array of users from private members to national teams and coaches.
