2021 Art Shows St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre Jan. 7– Feb. 28, 2021* Artwork should depict the diverse ways we celebrate for occasions, including various holidays, births, anniversaries, weddings or just because we’re happy! Receiving: Jan. 4, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Reception: Jan. 7, 6-7:30 p.m. March 4 – April 25, 2021 Be inspired by light in all forms. Receiving: March 1, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Reception: March 4, 6-7:30 p.m. April 29 – June 20, 2021 Be inspired by the flora that exists around you or create your own. Receiving: April 26, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Reception: April 29, 6-7:30 p.m. June 24 – Aug. 15, 2021** Artwork should promote a better understanding of Missouri, its regions, communities, and people, both past and present. Receiving: June 21, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Reception: June 24, 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 19 – Oct. 17, 2021 Artwork must depict something found at the end of a road or something that has been accomplished. Receiving: Aug. 16, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Reception: Aug. 19, 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 – Dec. 12, 2021 Works must be available for sale and priced at or under $100. Receiving: Oct. 18, 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. NO RECEPTION * Since we did not get to celebrate SPCAC’s 30th anniversary, we will “celebrate” with the first art show of 2021. **The Missouri Bicentennial Art Show has been endorsed by Missouri 2021. 2021 Art Shows St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre TO ENTER A ST. PETERS CULTURAL ARTS CENTRE SHOW: • Arts Centre members may submit up to 4 pieces of artwork for $15, non-members may submit up to 3 pieces for $20. • Shows are open to amateur and professional artists. All works will be judged together. • Youth artwork is accepted in these categories: grades K-5, grades 6-8 and high school. First, second, third and honorable mention ribbons will be given in each category. Youth entry fee is $5 per piece. • Cash awards for adult categories of Drawing/Painting, Photography, and Mixed Media: Best of Show ($100), 1st Place ($50), 2nd Place ($25), 3rd Place ($15) and Honorable Mention ribbons. • Commissions: Sales are encouraged. St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre retains a 25% commission on any work sold during the exhibition. Entrants selling work will be asked to submit a W-9 before receiving payment. There is no commission for the $100 or Less Art Show & Sale, so a W-9 form is not required for that particular show. ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS: • Art must be suitably framed with wire and D-rings only – NO EXCEPTIONS. • Works on paper must be under glass (smaller than 16” x 20 “) or Plexiglass no larger than 24” x 36” (framed or gallery wrapped canvases). • Textile works must include hardware for hanging using the City’s hanging system. • All works must remain on display during the full length of the exhibition. • The Arts Centre reserves the right to combine or eliminate awards in the event of lack of entries in categories. THE FOLLOWING IS PROHIBITED: • Copies/reproductions of any art. ALL ARTWORK MUST BE ORIGINAL. • Artwork created prior to 2017. • Works having won first place or Best of Show in a Cultural Arts Centre sponsored show (works may be accepted for exhibition only). • Digitally-reproduced fine art prints or artwork made using an inkjet process (giclees). • Artwork deemed offensive in nature including nudes..
