Alert/Appeal-Initial Assessment The Puntland government, specifically the president made an appeal for humanitarian assistance to the people displaced by recent Galgala operation. The appeal indicates that 1800 households displaced in Bosaso, Eel Daahir, Af-urur, Kalabeyr, Buraan and Dhahar in Sanaag P a g e 1 | 3 All minutes should be saved using the following format: 2015/03/01_FSC_SOM_BOSSASO_MEETING_MINUTES and Bari regions. The appeal dated 18th Feb 2015. With UNOCHA coordination, 26th Feb 2015 humanitarian agencies (UN, INGO and LNGOs) in Bossaso agreed to conduct an initial assessment jointly from 2nd- 5th March 2015. The field work will be 2nd -4th, and the report should be shared out latest by 6th of March. Agencies also agreed to use inter-agency initial investigation tool to conduct the assessment. OCHA will lead the assessment. The FSC partners discussed the appeal, the initial assessment and the inter-agency tool that will be used for investigation. Bernard MREWA, the Somalia FSC coordinator who chaired the meeting briefly explained the Food Security section in the inter-agency assessment tool for the participants and asked if they have any questions or doubt about the food security section in the assessment tool. Members of the meeting agreed the following actions points about this agenda. The content of the presentation covered summary district level information by response objective and review of gaps per district in January 2015. FAO, ADESO, WFP, VSF Suisse, NCA were partners who reported FSC related activities in January 2015. KAALO, OXFAM Novib implementing partner reported that ongoing FSC related activities that were not captured in the presentation. SCI staff in the meeting also highlighted ongoing activities that were not part of the January 2015 FSC presentation for Bosaso. SCI also mentioned response plan from 2014 up to 2017 for the region. Participants were informed to ask their principal recipients to report to the cluster. The partners questioned the geographic locations and districts that Bosaso regional FSC covers and reports. AOB The partners discussed the invitation of the FSNAU and FEWS NET for the Somalia livelihood rezoning validation workshop on Tuesday, 3 March 2015, from 10:30-15:00hrs in Garowe, and the possibility of training on FSC targeting logic and Information management in March 2015. They also talked over planning for a joint FSC and Nutrition cluster meeting. The date of the following meeting to be held was also discussed in the AOB agenda.
