Jonah Anton JSAGA – President 2 1. Background Jiwaka Student and Graduate Association (JSAGA) is an organization initiated by the Jiwaka tertiary students and graduates in 2013. The vision for the association is to see Jiwaka prosper through Godly principles and the aim/goal is to build Jiwaka Province with Godly Intellectuals in the near future. The objective of the organization is to build Jiwaka intellectuals with Godly principles. The association was initiated to work in partner with students and graduates to develop quality and God fearing human resources of Jiwaka Province. The association is also aimed at providing aid and support to remote parts of Jiwaka Province. The major activities for the organization are: 1. Organizing Student Fellowship (Jiwaka Students Fellowship) in tertiary institutions in Papua New Guinea and Secondary/high schools in Jiwaka province. 2. Christmas Outreach; Special trip to remote areas (rural health outreach, baseline survey and gospel outreach), Secondary/high school outreach/awareness and general Students and Graduates Convention. Jiwaka Students Fellowship First started in UPNG in 2009, Jiwaka Students Fellowship is a bit unique from other church groups in any institution in the country. It comprises of Jiwaka students, staff and interested individuals of all denominations coming together every Thursday to have fellowship as well as attend other organized activities like seminars, workshops, coaching and counselling. Having its own structure and administration, the Executives take charge of the small organization every year, passing the leadership roles to new young leaders as they move on. JSF keeps the young elites of Jiwaka united, bonded and have mutual understanding of one another. This is to ensure that they can work together in the future to develop their young province. Every end of the year, loyal members of JSF receive certificates in recognition for their participation plus references coming the time when registered members of the Fellowship group graduate or finish their tertiary education in the institution. In terms of projects, the Jiwaka Students Fellowship is one of the major projects of Jiwaka Students and Graduates Association Inc. Every year, tertiary students are prepared so they are ready to enter work force with moral values and principles which are the most important things in a person’s lives which many families and schools fail to instil. The JSF continues to groom them until they graduate not only with a degree or diploma certificate, but with the principles and virtues of life. We believe in changing our Nation by building and changing the younger generation starting in our home, our province, Jiwaka. Christmas Outreach Commenced in 2013 and continued to 2014. Special trips were made to the Upper Jimi LLG (Kol High School) in 2013 and East Kambia in 2014 with medical supplies.
