Food boxes will be available to HCPS families on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Boxes will be distributed at the 32 school sites listed below from 10 AM – 11:30 AM. Meal box distribution will also be available at Silo Bend on the same day from7:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Reservations are not required; however, supplies may be limited. Each meal box will contain breakfast and lunch for six days. Carrollwood Elementary School Mandatory Uniform Policy All Carrollwood students are expected to wear their uniforms every day to school. If a child is out of uniform the parent may be called to bring the appropriate clothing. If we are unable to contact a parent, a uniform will be provided to the child for the day from our clothes closet. The Dress Code Will Be Strictly Enforced. The uniform for Carrollwood students consists of: Shirts: Navy Blue, Gold, or White polo-style shirts (with or without school logo) *Shirts must have a collar and sleeves *Solid Sport Tek shirts with the school logo or white traditional button down shirts. *Long sleeve turtlenecks in solid white, navy, or gold are permitted during very cold weather only. *Sweatshirts must be in solid white, navy, or gold Bottom Color: Navy Blue or Khaki *Bottoms may be pants, shorts, skorts, skirts or jumpers. No oversized pants are permitted. *Length of shorts must be fingertip length *No parachute or nylon fabric is allowed. *No overalls are allowed. Spirit Day Fridays: *Uniforms or Carrollwood Spirit Shirts or previous spirit shirt or club shirt *Blue jean shorts, pants, skirts, skorts, shorts, capris, or jumpers *No hats may be worn inside the school building on any given day O W L ' S H O O T P A G E 3 In January, students learned about honesty and integrity. Students learned that it is important to always tell the truth and do the right thing even when no one is watching. February has been a month full of love and celebration! Students celebrated black history while also learning about diversity. Our character trait for the month of February is acceptance. We focused on accepting and embracing one another regardless of our differences. The character trait for March is responsibility. We will be learning about being responsible citizens and taking responsibility for our actions. The 2021 FSA will be a paper / pencil assessment, administered on campus, for both brick and mortar and e-learning students. The dates for all FSA testing are listed below. 3rd Grade: Reading: April 6th & 7th / Math: May 5th & 6th 4th Grade: Writing: April 6th / Reading: May 3rd & 4th / Math: May 5th & 6th 5th Grade: Writing: April 6th / Reading: May 3rd & 4th / Math: May 5th & 6th / Science: May 12th & 13th A link was provided by 3rd-5th grade e-learning teachers to gauge interest in e-learning students coming to campus for FSA testing. The link below will take you to a Microsoft Forms Document where you can complete some questions about your e-learning students return to campus for FSA testing. eLearning students returning to campus for FSA will be in separate testing rooms from our currently enrolled brick and mortar students. There will also be times and procedures for e-learning students testing on campus to be picked up after testing has been completed. And don’t forget to watch our Virtual Talent Show on Thursday, March 4 at 6:30 pm. A link for that event will be sent out next week. A flyer with more details will be sent home next Monday.     EVERY ATHLETE A DISCIPLE CAMBRIDGE CHRISTIAN LANCERS 2017 - 2018 WINTER SPORTS PROGRAM BASKETBALL | SOCCER LANCER ATHLETIC FAMILY: The middle and high school years are a time for exploring new things, developing talents, and discovering passions. Athletics provide a great venue for this growth. The only thing that rivals our own athletic experience is cheering on our children as they experience the same. I think the butterflies in my stomach were (and are) more active as a parent than they were even as a student-athlete. We view all Lancers as our own, so the butterflies are alive and well every week! Athletics mirror life. The ups are tremendous, and the downs can feel devastating. As parents, let’s commit to building our children up. Let’s stop short of living vicariously through our kids, and let’s be clear about communicating where athletics fall in the scope of life. Our athletics motto is, “Every Athlete a Disciple.” Towards that end, may we model putting Christ first and others next. Utopia is doing these things and picking up some championship banners along the way! Still, championships without Christ and character are empty and temporary. When our student-athletes see us model a consistent walk with Christ, the chance of them striving for the same increases dramatically. We are preparing students for college, which for some will include athletics, but more importantly, we are preparing them for life. I look forward to cheering on our kiddos alongside you this year!
