I hope all will have a great New Year. We have a lot going on this month and I hope all the visitors will enjoy the newly decorated club. The trustees worked very hard on this. I along with two master painters was a big help. The Master painters were Bob Horkey and Keith Thomas. I thank them and also Mike Scholz who coordinated this with the help of a decorator. The new fixtures were installed by Ron Ishen. Steve added a timer to the heater on the patio. This will save us some money. The Trustees have done a great job for our Post. When you see Mike Scholz, Steve Tivnan and Ron Ishen tell them thanks. The month of January will have the New member Initiation combined with the Auxiliary and the Son’s. This will be the second year that we have done this and I believe that it adds to the legion family to see just what a great family we have. This will include a buffet; so mark this date 14 January 6:00PM. I encourage all members to come and visit our new members. This is what makes our Post grow. We must also congratulate our Boy Scout Troop 440, Scout Master Bill Norling and his crew have done a fantastic job with our Scouts. -

This results in much traveling by car due to the daily customer visits. This causes costs for the company, in form of travel expenses compensation, and en- vironmental effects, in form of carbon dioxide pollution. As many companies are certified according to environmental management systems, such as ISO 14001, the environmental work becomes more and more important as the environmen- tal consciousness increases every day for companies, authorities and public. The main task of this thesis is to compute reasonable limits on the mileage of the salesmen; these limits are based on specific conditions for each salesman’s district. The objective is to implement a heuristic algorithm that optimizes the customer tours for an arbitrary chosen month, which will represent a “standard” month. The output of the algorithm, the computed distances, will constitute a mileage limit for the salesman. The algorithm consists of a constructive heuristic that builds an initial solution, which is modified if infeasible. This solution is then improved by a local search algorithm preceding a genetic algorithm, which task is to improve the tours separately. -

Chris Rhomberg Abstract Discussions of the current state of American labor have overlooked the fact that the strike, a principal form of union and working class power, has virtually disappeared from American life. The rise of an anti-union institutional legal regime has undermined the right to strike and effectively reversed the structure of incentives for collective bargaining envisioned under the National Labor Relations Act. The dynamics of the current regime are illustrated by one of the largest and longest strikes of recent decades, the 1995 Detroit Newspapers strike. The consequences go beyond unionized labor and constitute a de-democratization of workplace governance in the United States.
