DESCRIPTION OF THE MUNICIPALITY
Verdal municipality is located in Nord-Trondelag county. It covers an area of 1,543 sq km and has a population of 14,330.
The municipality’s most important business sectors are the construction, offshore, agricultural and forestry industries. THE MUNICIPALITY’S COMMITMENT TO UNIVERSAL DESIGN
Good accessibility was included in the plan for Verdal’s centre in 1995. Verdal was given the status of a town in 1998, after which the realisation of its centre plans really took off. Verdal was a pilot municipality for universal design in 2005-2008, and has been a resource municipality since 2009. It collaborates well with the Council for Persons with Disabilities.
