In addition, this project makes related track and interlocking investments between Trenton, NJ and Morrisville, PA and at New York Penn Station. The upgraded power facilities will reduce power failures, which are frequently experienced on this segment of the NEC. California ‐ Total Funding Amount: $4,243,143,231 This project encompasses the purchase of 15 passenger rail cars and 4 locomotives for use on the Pacific Surfliner, San Joaquin, and Capitol Corridors in California. These new cars and locomotives will be compliant with standards for equipment that can travel at speeds up to 125 mph established Next Generation Passenger Rail Equipment CA ‐ DOT ARRA Corridor Program pursuant to Section 305 of the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act of 2008. -

Staff Report TO: Mayor, and City Council Members FROM: Elizabeth Gibbs, Director of Community Services DATE February 4, 2020 SUBJECT: Opposition Letter – SunLine Transit Agency Proposed Commuter Link Route 10 Background and Analysis: On November 7, 2019, SunLine Transit Agency (SunLine) announced to the Transportation Now (T-Now) committee that they had completed a new draft schedule for their Commuter Link 220, which provides service from Palm Desert to the Riverside Metrolink Station, with stops at Casino Morongo and Beaumont Walmart (Attachment A). On November 12, 2019, SunLine held a community meeting at the Beaumont Civic Center and presented a proposed new commuter link route with service from the Coachella Valley to California State University San Bernardino’s (CSUSB) main campus in San Bernardino, with a stop at Beaumont Walmart (Attachment B). SunLine presented their proposal as follows: Current Service - Three (3) eastbound and three (3) westbound trips from Coachella Valley to Riverside, - FY 19 ridership was 13,561 passenger trips, Proposed Service - Four (4) eastbound and four (4) westbound trips from Coachella Valley to San Bernardino, and - Target passengers are CSUSB students. Following the community meeting, City staff contacted SunLine staff and requested a meeting to discuss the proposed route to gain more information about future service; however, no response was received. On January 9, 2020, SunLine staff emailed a draft support letter for their grant application for a solar microgrid to hydrogen transit project. In the letter, they introduced a new Commuter Link Route 10 bus service from Indio to San Bernardino, with stops at Beaumont Walmart and the San Bernardino Transit Center (SBTC) (Attachment C). -

It consists of approximately 10.45 acres and is currently used for the North Hollywood Station entrance, a 14-bay bus layover site and a 1,101-space auto parking surface lot. •Parcel 2 is located west of Lankershim Boulevard and bounded by South Chandler Boulevard on the north, Bakman Avenue on the west and Weddington Avenue on the south. It is approximately 1.8 acres and currently serves Metro construction-related uses. Though not directly connected to Metro Red Line, this parcel can be directly linked to the station through an existing knockout panel. Pacific Electric Trail Fontana, Seven Year Budget California 2009/2010 A City of Action 2015/2016 ABOUT THE COVER For the City of Fontana’s Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Adopted Capital Improvement Program, a cover highlighting “the Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail” is featured. The Pacific Electric Trail (PE Trail) is proposed as a 20 mile, regional, multi-purpose trail extending from Claremont, through Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, and Rialto. The trail was adopted by all the cities it traverses to promote non-motorized travel and other clean air programs. The Master Plan has been completed, and the individual cities have been implementing their respective portions of the PE Trail. Approximately 6.5 miles of the PE Trail traverses through Fontana. As shown on the map below, the City has divided the PE Trail Segment 5B 6.5 miles of PE Trail into six major segments. The existing abandoned railroad right-of-way, on which the PE Trail is located, is 80 feet wide and is consistent throughout each segment. The southerly 35 feet is dedicated to the multi-purpose trail which will consist of a 15 foot wide concrete paved walking/jogging/bike path and landscaping. The northerly 45 feet of that right-of-way is reserved for future rail considerations however, the area may also be landscaped. Four years ago Segment 1 of the PE Trail, a .75 mile segment through the downtown and Civic Center area, was completed. Segment 5A, a .43 mile segment in the Village of Heritage, was completed shortly thereafter. In January 2009 Segment 2, approximately .94 of a mile running from Juniper Ave to Tokay Ave, was completed. -

The 'Start Smart' Program is a cooperative effort between the California Highway Patrol, Camarillo Police Department, teenage drivers, and their parents. In an attempt to remain proactive and not reactive, Start Smart is designed to help young drivers and their parents/guardians understand the responsibilities associated with driving a motor vehicle. Start Smart will show how a poor choice behind the wheel can change the lives of everyone involved. Our goal is to raise awareness and reduce the number of teen-related injuries and deaths due to collisions. Interested parents are asked to call Sergeant Renee Ferguson at 805-388-5132 for more information and for reservations call the Camarillo Police Department Community Resource Unit at 805-388-5155 to make a reservation.
