Slamannan Parish Church finding aid

Slamannan Parish is a pre-reformation parish and was probably first disjoined from Falkirk. The post-reformation church was a quoad omnia parish. After 1929 the congregation adopted the name Slamannan St Laurence. The present congregation was formed by the union of Slamannan St Laurence and Slamannan Balquatstone on 25 October 1945.

The Church of Scotland kirk session for Slamannan sat in the presbytery of Linlithgow until 1929. It then sat within the presbytery of Linlithgow and Falkirk and from 1976 in the presbytery of Falkirk.
