To receive an update on the Town Partner Scheme and the level of support offered to the different partners. Background Information 2. The Finance Working Group approved the concept of developing a formal partnership scheme at its meeting of the 12th June 2013. 3. At the Council meeting of the 16th September 2013, the Council approved the establishment of the Town Partner Scheme to recognise the organisations that support the work of the Council in the achievement of its strategic objectives (Min no. 30). Access to the Town Partner Scheme is solely based on the groups concerned working in accordance with at least one of the Council’s strategic objectives. The scheme is therefore open to groups representing people with protected characteristics. Detailed Consideration 7. To date, 19 organisations are now official Town Partners and they are featured on the Town Partners section of the Town Council web site at http://www.chesham.gov.uk/Partners.aspx. 8. A contact list has been created and distributed to all partners to facilitate communication between members of the scheme. 9. A Town Partner logo has been created free of charge by Tom Horigan of Horigan Marketing and Business Development and has been made available for use by the partners. The logo can be viewed on the Town Council web site. 10. At the Council meeting of the 24th February 2014, it was resolved that ‘A review of the resources provided in support of the partners should be undertaken in six months and no further introduction of additional features to the scheme be considered until that time’ (Min no 80). All Town Partners are offered to following facilities: Use of the Town Partner logo The option to submit written reports to Council meetings The option to feature the work of their organisation in a Town Council Report in the free yourChesham monthly magazine A profile on the Town Partner section of the Council web site Beyond this, the level of Council support offered to the partners differs considerably depending on the length of association that the groups have with the Council, or how they were established. The current level of support for each of the partners is detailed in the attached summary. Your officers would seek a view from the Council as to whether the current variable
