As there were different commissions for losses to the British, the Americans, and Indians aiding both armies, a claimant may have made two or more separate claims. These claims were usually filed together but there was also a register of certificates supporting claims and pages were sometimes misfiled with other people’s claims. There were insufficient funds available to pay the claims immediately after the war and claims had to be resubmitted in 1823. Claims were rejected for a number of reasons, including fraud and lack of evidence. Agents were sometimes hired to appeal rejections or to facilitate the claim process. Carpenters, and other tradesmen, and merchants sometimes certified the value of lost items. Because of the delays in recompense some families were left destitute for over ten years after their loss. The ideal war loss claim included details for who, what, when, where, why, and how the loss occurred. However, many claims lacked some these details. Some documents were illegible or difficult to read. The claim registers in the collection were sometimes incomplete, illegible, or contained transcription errors. An effort has been made in the indices below to correct those problems. -

I want you to know that there's probably nothing in this world that he loves more than to help people to understand the importance of their fork, the simple fork in fighting disease, and how we should never think that it's okay to injure our endothelial cells. He is the ultimate taskmaster. Much to everyone's disappointment, he doesn't prescribe a 90% plan. He is 100% all-in, and he expects the rest of us to follow suit. He does not believe in moderation, as most of you know, but he does believe in you, and your ability to tackle this disease head-on, and bring it to its knees. Rip Esselstyn: Nobody said that this was going to be easy, and that's okay. All of us, from time to time, need a really good challenge in our lives, to push ourselves outside our comfort zones, test our limits, and see exactly what we're made of. My father speaks the truth. He never rounds up to make an argument land in his favor. He just wants us to live our best, most vibrant lives. Now, to give you a sneak peek, some of the topics we discuss are nitric oxide, and why chewing leafy greens every day is your best defense against chronic Western disease, including COVID-19. Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D
Experts to Follow Caldwell Esselstyn, M.D. ʺDr. Esselstyn is a physician, author and former Olympic rowing champion. Esselstyn, Jr., received his B.A. from Yale University and his M.D. from Western Reserve University. In 1956, pulling the No. 6 oar as a member of the victorious United States rowing team, he was awarded a gold medal at the Olympic Games. He was trained as a surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic and at St. Georgeʹs Hospital in London. In 1968, as an Army surgeon in Vietnam, he was awarded the Bronze Star. Dr. Esselstyn has been associated with the Cleveland Clinic since 1968. During that time, he has served as President of the Staff and as a member of the Board of Governors. He chaired the Clinicʹs Breast Cancer Task Force and headed its Section of Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. ISSN: 2618 – 5911 Türkiye Spor Bilimleri Dergisi 2020; 4(2);124-132 DOI: 10.32706/tusbid.830945 Araştırma Makalesi 1956 İstanbul Dünya Kupası Güreş Müsabakalarında Türkiye Mehmet YILDIZ1 Özbay GÜVEN2 Efdal Utku GÜVEN3 Öz Bu çalışmanın amacı, 1956 yılında İstanbul’da düzenlenen Dünya Kupası Serbest ve Greko-Romen Güreş Şampiyonalarında Türk Güreş Millî Takımlarının elde ettiği başarıları değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden döküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bulgulara ulaşmak amacıyla 1956 yılında İstanbul’da düzenlenen Dünya Kupası’na yönelik detaylı literatür taraması yapılmış ve elde edilen veriler üzerinden içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre Türk Serbest Güreş Millî Takımı sporcuları dört altın, iki gümüş ve iki bronz madalya kazanarak 42 puan toplamış ve dönemin en güçlü takımlarından olan Rus güreş takımını geride bırakarak takım halinde birinci olmuştur. Türk Grekoromen Güreş Millî Takımı sporcuları ise iki altın, üç gümüş ve bir bronz madalya kazanarak 36,5 puan toplayarak takım halinde ikinci olarak önemli bir başarıya imza atmışlardır. Türk güreş millî takımlarının elde ettiği bu başarılar Dünya Kupası Güreş Şampiyonasının ilk kez 1956 yılında İstanbul’da düzenlenmiş olması ve ilk kez düzenlenen böyle bir organizasyonda elde edilen başarılar açısından hem Türk güreş tarihi hem de dünya güreş tarihinde son derece önemli olarak görülmektedir. Bu organizasyon ayrıca Türk güreşçiler Hüseyin Akbaş ve Mustafa Dağıstanlı’nın 1954 yılında Tokyo’da düzenlenen Dünya Serbest Güreş Şampiyonası’ndan sonra 1956 yılında İstanbul’da düzenlenen Dünya Kupası’nda da altın madalya kazanma başarısını gösterdiği bir organizasyon olmuştur. The 1964 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XVIII Olympiad ( Dai J ūhachi-kai Orinpikku Ky ōgi Taikai ), were held in Tokyo , Japan , from October 10 to 24, 1964. Tokyo had been awarded the organization of the 1940 Summer Olympics , but this honor was subsequently passed to Helsinki because of Japan's invasion of China , before ultimately being canceled because of World War II . The 1964 Summer Games were the first Olym- pics held in Asia, and the first time South Africa was barred from taking part due to its apartheid system in sports. (South Africa was, however, allowed to compete at the 1964 Summer Paral- ympics , also held in Tokyo, where it made its Paralympic Games debut .) Tokyo was chosen as the host city during the 55th IOC Session in West Germany, on May 26, 1959. These games were also the first to be telecast internationally without the need for tapes to be flown overseas, as they had been for the 1960 Olympics four years earlier. The games were The 1964 Olympics were also the last to use a telecast to the United States using Syncom 3, the traditional cinder track for the track events. A first geostationary communication satellite, and smooth, synthetic, all-weather track was used for from there to Europe using Relay 1 .
