The name, inspired by Moby Dick, envoked the seafaring tradition of the early coffee traders. Starbucks offered some of the world’s finest fresh-roasted whole bean coffees, from a narrow storefront. From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. In 1987, Howard Schultz acquired Starbucks assets and changed its name to Starbucks Corporation; at this time there were 17 locations. Now, Starbucks operates as a roaster, marketer and retailer and is known to be the preeminent coffee company worldwide. The company operates over 23,000 locations in more than 65 countries and is the fourth largest coffee producer in the world and benefits from its strong brand loyalty. Its stores offer coffee and tea beverages, packaged roasted whole-bean and ground coffees, single-serve ready-to-drink coffee and tea products, juices, bottled water, various food products, such as pastries, breakfast sandwiches and lunch items. The company offers its products under the Starbucks, Teavana, Tazo, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Evolution Fresh, La Boulange, Ethos, Starbucks VIA, Starbucks Doubleshot, Starbucks Refreshers, and Starbucks Iced Cafè Favorites brand names. Starbucks currently has a net worth in excess of $5.8 billion, TTM revenue of $21.6 billion and TTM net income of $2.8 billion as of January 1, 2017. https://www.starbucks.com Serving a wide variety of fresh, made-to-order Southwest fare, Moe’s Southwest Grill, opened their first location in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. The name Moe’s is actually an acronym standing for Musicians, Outlaws and Entertainers, which lends to the music related artwork that can be found in each restaurant . In 2010, Moe’s signed its first overseas development agreement to open 40 restaurants in Turkey, prior to this the restaurant could only be found in the Americas. Nearly 20 years after the original location opened, Moe’s is serving Southwest fare at more than 700 locations in both the U.S. and abroad. Beyond their restaurant walls, fan favorites, can be found in Walmart, Kroger and BJs Warehouses across the United States. Eddie Webster is the franchisee at this location and has operated this unit since 2004. Eddie currently operates four units in the Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL markets. Store sales are strong and well above the average unit volume for Moe’s Southwest. Moe’s Schillinger, LLC is the tenant at this location with personal guarantees from Eddie and others. https://www.moes.com Starbucks & Moe’s Southwest Grill | Mobile, AL | 10 STARBUCKS & MOE’S | 390 SCHILLINGER ROAD SOUTH LOCATION OVERVIEW MOBILE OVERVIEW METRO HIGHLIGHTS Mobile County is on the Alabama coast, partially bordered by Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. • Company Profile
S T A R B U C K S S T O R I E S & N E W S Company Profile Our story began in 1971. Back then we were a roaster and retailer of whole bean and ground coffee, tea and spices with a single store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Today, we are privileged to connect with millions of customers every day in more than 80 markets. F O L K L O R E Starbucks is named after the first mate in Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick.” Our logo is also inspired by the sea – featuring a twin-tailed siren from Greek mythology. S T A R B U C K S M I S S I O N Our mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time. O U R C O F F E E We’ve always believed in serving the finest coffee possible. It's our goal for all our coffee to be grown under the highest standards of quality, using ethical sourcing practices. Our coffee buyers personally travel to coffee farms in Latin America, Africa and Asia to select high-quality Arabica beans. And our master roasters bring out the balance and rich flavor of the beans through the signature Starbucks® Roast. O U R S T O R E S Our stores are a neighborhood gathering place for meeting friends and family. Our customers enjoy quality service, an inviting atmosphere and an exceptional beverage in our stores and immersive Starbucks Reserve® Roastery locations in Chicago, Milan, New York, Seattle, Shanghai and Tokyo.
