This study aims (1) to understand background, identity, the uniqueness of Hua Hin, (2) to analyze the heritage and assess its values, (3) to analyze tourism impacts on urbanism in Hua Hin, (4) to provide a new paradigm for tourism management in order to sustain the heritage and tourism in Hua Hin This study has found that the community in Hua Hin has been in existence since in the reign of King Rama III, extending to the period of construction of the southern railways, which was in the end of reign of King Rama V and into that of King Rama VI. The community’s prosperity accompanied the development of the southern rails. Hua Hin soon became a well-known town and remains so today. Tourism promotion by the government from the past until present has consistently developed transportation increasingly more comfortable system, which has resulted in continual increases in the number of visitors. The impacts from tourism are shown to be both positive and negative in various aspects, including social and cultural, economics, environment and physical. This research it emphasizes from that urbanism has also affected people and the physical character of the city. And the finding has been to impact on residents. Non stakeholders have been disturbed by the impacts of tourism on their daily lives in contrast to the stakeholders. In response to this concern , the ICOMOS International Cultural Tourism Charter, Burra Charter and sustainability tools enhance the Community- Based Tourism’s Principle are proposed as a new paradigm for sustainable tourism management in Hua Hin.     Rajapark Journal Vol.13 No.30 July-September 2019 “ความรู้มีรากฐานมาจากจิตสำนึก” Development Challenges for Religious Arts on the Thonburi Bank of the Chao Phraya River Nattawut Palakavongsa na Ayudhya Silpakorn University Email: [email protected] Received July 11, 2019; Revised July 24, 2019; Accepted September 15, 2019 Abstract From long-term observation of the riverfront communities of Thonburi and of their apparent success, the following research question was derived, both motivating and guiding the present project: Does the Thonburi community manifest significant key values that might explain its historical success in multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-religious tolerance and co-habitation, and thence to reveal if there are lessons to be drawn from this success regarding ways of living together, also to become integrated into existing community structures? There has been a further, underlying question: do the lessons to be drawn from Thonburi’s historic tolerance and community peace have potential for translation to other levels where conflict prevails in Thailand’s society? In pursuing this broad question, the following more specific objectives have been set: 1) To study cultural and social context influencing religious places on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, and 2) To study the features of artistic works in religious places of Buddhism, Christianity and Islam in the communities on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River area in relation to cultural and social context. One set of questionnaires and interviews was developed and used as a research instrument. Experts and elderly people living in the community participated in the in-depth interviews.

    8 Siamese state expansion in the Thonburi and early Bangkok periods Koizumi Junko Introduction This study examines how the polity of Siam was able to re-establish itself and expand its control over the areas that extended to the Lao Kingdoms in the north and northeast and to the Malay Peninsula in the south within the several decades after the destruction of Ayutthaya by Burmese forces. Existing studies have pointed out that thriving maritime trade, especially with China, was of crucial importance to the recovery of Siamese power. The early Bangkok period saw a frequent dispatch of tributary missions to China with a commercial motivation of unprecedented strength. Along with the dispatch of official tributary missions, private junk trade between the two countries also flourished. By fully exploiting the benefits from such trade, Siam quickly recovered from the devastation caused by the Burmese invasion and became one of the major powers in the region by the early nineteenth century.1 Besides those studies that emphasise the significance of maritime com­ mercial activities, there is another vein of research that stresses the import­ ance of labour power control, particularly corvée service to the king imposed on all able-bodied men, for the (re-)establishment of Siam as a strong kingdom.2 It is argued that in the beginning of a new dynasty, the absolute kingship based on a firm control over labour power in the form of corvée was realised; yet such control was to be eroded by the flourishing commercial economy, through its encouragement of corvée evasion as commoners fled or became phrai som (“private” freemen serving officials) or that (a person under debt bondage) on the one hand, and the employ­ ment of Chinese wage labourers on the other.

    A gigantic dam which is 58-meters high and 760-meters long overlooks the peaceful scene of a fresh-water not only a nursery of various kinds of fish, but it is also a wonderful place for casual rafting and sightseeing. You can charter a long-tailed boat to soak up the sights of Som Island, explore the source of the Phetchaburi River or try fishing. A wide range of restuarants offering great local food are available too. (8.30 a.m.- 4.30 p.m.) This cave is located in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, a place known for its range of limestone moutains, mangrove this famous historical site of Phetchaburi swamps and beaches. Inside the cave is is Thailand’s first summer palace complex ever constructed on top of the exquisitely built Phra Thinang Khuha Kharuehat, a Thai-style, four-porched a mountain. The place provieds visitors with a unique fusion of neoclassical, wooden pavilion constructed during the reign of King Rama V. A nearby Thai and Chinese architectural styles-a combination that makes the park attraction is a large banyan tree with aerial roots-a romantic archway a very worthwhile destination in itself. The main attractions are Phra Kae created by nature. It is believed that walking under this arch will be a blessing, Noi Temple, which was built as a royal chapel according to tradtional beliefs, especially when it comes to love. Couples will find their bond of love and Phrathat Chomphe, a big white pagoda located at the center. Open daily. strengthened, while those who are single will find the love of their lives.
