Born and raised in Manchester, Fury weighed just 1lb at birth after being born three months premature. His father John named him after Mike Tyson. From Irish traveller heritage, the“Gypsy King” is undefeated in 28 professional fights, winning 27 with 19 knockouts, and drawing once. His most famous victory came in 2015, when he stunned longtime champion Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles. He was forced to vacate the belts because of issues with drugs, alcohol and mental health, and did not fight again for more than two years. Most thought he was done with boxing forever. Until an amazing comeback fight with Deontay Wilder in December 2018. It was an instant classic, ending in a split decision tie. Outside of the ring, Tyson Fury is a mental health ambassador. He donated his million dollar purse from the Deontay Wilder fight to the homeless. This book is dedicated to the cause of mental health awareness. -

Joshua's Heavyweight Title Defence Postponed by Coronavirus Outbreak
18 Established 1961 Sports Sunday, April 5, 2020 Photo of the day NFL could move 2024 Super Bowl due to Mardi Gras NEW ORLEANS: The NFL is considering moving the 2024 Super Bowl out of New Orleans due to potential conflicts with Mardis Gras that emerged with the pending expansion to a 17-game season. New Orleans, which was awarded Super Bowl LVIII during a meeting in 2018, would not lose the game entirely, but rather have it pushed back a year or two. No decision has been made. The game is scheduled for Feb. 4, but that date was set with a 16-game NFL schedule. If a week were to be added to the schedule, the game would be played on Feb. 11 — presenting a conflict with Mardi Gras begin- ning on Feb. 13. “The New Orleans Host Committee, led by the New Orleans Saints and Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, has remained in close communication with league officials about the change to a 17-game regular season, as it relates to the city hosting Super Bowl LVIII in 2024,” Saints vice president of communica- tions Greg Bensel said in a statement on Friday. “During the bid process in 2018, it was contemplated and discussed of the possibility of an extended sched- ule based on a new CBA. The Bid Committee, the New Orleans Saints and NFL worked together to build in contingencies if a potential conflict with Mardi Gras should affect the Super Bowl date. “Mutually agreed upon terms during the bid process granted assurances that the NFL and Host Committee would explore all options for still hosting the game in 2024, or, agreeing to host the Super Bowl in a future year when the citywide calendar permits.” The 17-game schedule, per terms of the new collec- tive bargaining agreement, will be installed as the norm sometime between 2021 and 2023. -

A Search for Champion Boxers
Mathematical Assoc. of America Mathematics Magazine 88:1 August 5, 2021 10:06 p.m. output.tex page 1 VOL. 88, NO. 1, FEBRUARY 2015 1 A Search for Champion Boxers Tien Chih Montana State University-Billings Billings MT 59101 [email protected] Demitri Plessas Independent Researcher [email protected] “Once the fans of history get an idea of the people he beat, then they will get a better perspective of him, I’m sure. He’s got an All-Star list of victories. So they’re gonna think ‘. damn he beat all these guys?’ People are gonna know. He should be in the top 5, top 3 and stuff.” - Mike Tyson on Evander Holyfield (Chasing Tyson [3]) The 2015 documentary “Chasing Tyson” [3] describes the career of 4-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. One of the central themes of this film was how due to his low-key style and humble attitude, the boxing public did not accept Holyfield as a top fighter deserving of the accolade “world heavyweight champion”. However, former Heavyweight Champion and widely accepted all-time great Mike Tyson is quoted above at the end of the film, making the case for Holyfield’s greatness. Although not particularly flashy in or outside the ring, Holyfield’s achievement in the sport of boxing may be measured in an objective way: by the list of quality boxers he has defeated. This argument is reminiscent of Google’s PageRank algorithm [2, 10]. PageRank is an algorithm that assigns to web pages a value, based on the web pages who link to it and their value, that is receiving an incoming link from a high-value website carries more value than a link from a low-level one. -
Devin Haney Sounds Off on Everyone Hovering Around His Division
Devin Haney Sounds off on Everyone Hovering Around his Division LAS VEGAS, NV (July 10, 2020) – Undefeated WBC Lightweight champion, Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15 KOs), sounds off, putting the big names surrounding his weight class on notice as he awaits the announcement of this next fight. In addition, Haney gives his thoughts on his next fight during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the mental and physical benefits of being quarantined. I’m excited to get back in the ring,” said Devin Haney. “This has been the longest time between fights in my career. My body received a well deserved rest. I’m blessed.” “Lately, I’ve been fortunate to spend a lot of time with “TBE” Floyd Maweather. Being compared to Mayweather is the ultimate compliment for any fighter in this era of boxing. I’m the most skilled fighter in the world right now and I’m looking forward to an opponent I can make a statement against. I’m working diligently with Mauricio Sulaiman and the WBC to make the big fights happen. Every decision made by the WBC hasn’t went my way, but I have a genuine love and respect for the WBC family as a whole. I’m proud to represent the WBC organization.” “Vasyl Lomachenko is a true professional and considered to be a top five pound for pound champion. I challenged him for the WBC lightweight world title and I didn’t get the big fight I wanted, but I got the belt I deserved by stopping Zaur Abdullaev and becoming Vasyl Lomachenko’s mandatory challenger to the lightweight world title.
