AFL NSW/ACT CODE OF CONDUCT

Each Parent and Supporter understands and agrees to:

• Support the participants and enjoy the Match; • Encourage participation, but don’t force it; • Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning; • Never ridicule mistakes or losses; • Lead by example and respect all Players, Coaches, Umpires, Officials and spectators. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated; • Recognise all volunteers who give up their valuable time; • Never publicly criticise Umpires and instead raise personal concerns with Club Officials in private; • Do not use remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability as many such comments are politically incorrect and it is your Coach, team-mates, Club and family that are let down with such remarks; • Respect the facilities and equipment of their own and opposing Clubs; • Do not engage in physical and/or verbal intimidation, abuse or conduct toward any Player, Official, Umpire or sup- porter. Such actions are totally unacceptable; • Condemn the use of violence in any form, whether it is by spectators, Coaches, Officials or Players; • Refrain from using abusive language. • Not to enter the field of play in any sanctioned Competition Match unless granted permission by an Official to do so; • Not take part in any form of bullying including via the use of social media; • Not make or post inappropriate, offensive or discriminatory comments in public, including via social media, about Players, Clubs, Umpires, Officials, the AFL or the League. Social media includes, but is not limited to, email, instant messaging, text messages, phone messages, digital images, website postings (including social media such as Face- book, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, websites and blogs);

5 www.aflhuntercentralcoast.com.au COMPETITION UPDATE — COVID - 19

In response to the positive testing of a Nelson Bay Marlins u9 player for COVID -19, the AFL Hunter Cen- tral Coast would like to provide you with an update on the impacts of this situation.

AFL Hunter Central Coast is working closely with Hunter New England Health (HNEH) and the Nelson Bay Marlins regarding an Under 9s player who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

We ask everyone in our football community to adhere to all local health authority advice regarding the matter, including casual contacts. Additional information on up to date COVID-19 case location and testing information for NSW is available via the NSW Health Website – CLICK HERE The following fixture adjustments have been made in response:

Mandatory fixture amendments based on close contact confirmation by HNEH: • Nelson Bay Under 9s fixtures for Round 2 and 3 will be cancelled

Additional fixture amendments and information: • The Newcastle City Sky Blues that played Nelson Bay last weekend have requested the Sky Blue Under 9s game be cancelled this weekend (Round 2), with the team also not training ahead of a possible game in Round 3. The league is supportive of the request, as such the Newcastle City Sky Blue Under 9s game in Round 2 will be cancelled. The league wishes to thank Newcastle City Junior club for their openness and dialogue related to this matter.

Further to the above, the league has confirmed in consultation with Nelson Bay (seniors and juniors) and Port Stephens clubs, all Round 2 fixtures involving teams from these clubs (both home and away) will be postponed.

• The league will work closely with all impacted clubs to re-schedule competitive games when appropri- ate, noting that opportunities may exist either mid-week or during the October 4 bye round.

In addition, no umpires from the Nelson Bay or Port Stephens areas will be appointed to fixtures in Round 2.

The league will review fixtures for all teams from Nelson Bay (seniors and juniors) and Port Stephens clubs along with the Under 9’s Sky Blue Newcastle City team ahead of Round 3.

The league wishes to thank the Nelson Bay Marlins and Newcastle City Junior clubs for their well- prepared COVID-19 Safety Plan, which has allowed for swift contact tracing to occur. Further to this the league along with AFL NSW/ACT also wishes to pass on our collective thoughts and wish a speedy recov- ery to the Nelson Bay Under 9s player diagnosed with COVID-19.

“I’ll be honest, Wyong told us they had a really strong side so we should be proud of how close we came today,” Singleton senior vice president Sam Howard explained.

Though it was not to be Singleton’s day, there were many highlights.

The Singleton Roosterettes opened their season with a 14-point win over Lake Macquarie in a performance which almost came as a surprise to playing coach Nadene McBride.

“A few of us have previously been there and we know how hard of a slog the challenge of facing Lake Macquarie can be,” McBride explained.

“They came out hard straight up. “But even our new girls were able to survive it so to come out as winners was absolutely amazing.”

Teenager Kalani Bates was named in the best alongside her mother Paula while reigning best and fairest Kyah McBride found two goals.

Today our three senior sides will travel to Gosford before our junior contingent continue their season at home on Sunday.

A huge thank you to the Horse and Jockey Hotel for their sponsorship this year.

After the long awaited arrival of round 1, we were set the task of kick- ing things off against an always strong Newcastle City, on an unusual WOMEN'S MEN’S Tuesday night. We started competitively, but as the first half drew to 1 1 an end we found ourselves 12 goals down knowing we had an almighty 2 2 challenge ahead. 3 3 4 4 Credit to our side, we came out swinging in the third, with the game 5 6 remaining scoreless for majority of the quarter, due to the likes of 6 8 Blayke Carpenter and Sean Durouxx holding down the fort during the 7 9 constant barrage of City forward entries. 8 10 9 11 The wisdom of our new recruits Aaron Stephenson and Andrew Wil- 10 12 mont were strong throughout the midfield but unfortunately we were 11 13 unable to capitalise when the ball entered our forward line. 12 14

15 13 Special mentions to all club debutants, with 16/22 named donning the 16 Red, Black and White for the first time, some of which for their first 14 17 game of footy. 15 18

16 19 17 20 Finally, big shout out the Ryan Davis who celebrated his 100th senior game, hopefully we can appropriately celebrated next weekend with a 18 22 W followed by the club's official season launch. 19 23 21 24 22 25 23 26 24 27 25 28 26 29
