2016 FACT SHEET

PERSONAL TRAVEL Travel to and from Chicago: both O’Hare and Midway Airports are convenient to the sailing venue. The Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Foundation (JGASF), through a generous donor, has created a program that will be providing a number of Travel Grants for air travel as well as lodging to eligible registrants. The JGASF NACC 2016 Travel Grant form can be found directly on the NACC regatta website page, accessible through www.chicagoyachtclub.org. Please note that the deadline for submitting Travel Grant applications is 30JUN2016. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with an emphasis on need.

AIRLINE TRAVEL DISCOUNT The Chicago Yacht Club received a discount code from United Airlines for the NACC Competitors. Go to United.com, click on “All Search Option”, enter your desired flight information (airport, travel dates), scroll to the bottom of the page and enter the Z code ZWZX and Agreement Code 929061 in the offer box, click search to find flights. NOTE: Make sure there is no space between the Z code and Agreement code when you search.

Travel to and from the Hotel Campus to event venues: Cook- Corporation, a Chicago based bus company will provide transportation to and from O’Hare Airport and the Hotel Campus as well as between the Hotel Campus and event locations such as the Chicago Yacht Club Belmont and Monroe Stations.

LODGING Reduced rate competitor lodging has been arranged with White Lodging for ALOFT - Chicago City Center, 515 North Clark Street. This reduced rate is guaranteed only to entrants registered by July 13, 2016. Booking for those entrants meeting the deadline will be done via the Regatta Travel Coordinator, Jennifer Wohlberg: [email protected] and not through each hotel’s central registration. The rate is $209 per night. A breakfast voucher is an additional $10 per day.

Competitors are also welcome to make their own lodging arrangements. Please note that complimentary bus transportation will leave from and return to the Hotel Campus only. Reduced rates are not available for coaches or aides.

BOAT SUPPLIERS - The Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Foundation and The Chicago Yacht Club The JGASF can provide all Freedom Independence 20 boats at no charge. JGASF and the Chicago Yacht Club each have (8) Sonar boats available, a total of 16 Sonars are available at no charge. Also, JGASF has four (4) 2.4mR’s at no charge. Chicago Yacht Club implies no suitability or warranty for the boats offered by JGASF or other individuals listed in the NOR or on its website.

BOAT TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE If you are borrowing a boat, please contact the provider for information about boat delivery. For boats traveling to Belmont Station by road, please note that trucks and trailers on (US 41) are prohibited and are subject to being ticketed. You are advised to seek alternate routes. Boats must notify Chicago Yacht Club of the date they will be arriving. Please contact: Jay Kehoe, On the Water Coordinator, Chicago Yacht Club, by calling 773-477-7575 or [email protected]. Jay will coordinate hoist use and dockage at the club.

All trailers and tow vehicles must be stored and daily parking paid for in the Standard Parking lot at the south end of Belmont Harbor. Tape your paid parking receipt to your trailer. Under no circumstances should trailers or tow vehicles park in the Club’s parking lot as vehicles may be towed from this location.

PARKING Chicago Yacht Club, Belmont Station, does not have parking. There is a paid parking lot at the south end of Belmont Harbor, adjacent to the Club House.

BOAT GEAR All competitors are responsible for any items they leave on boats. Please note that the weather on can be unpredictable and you should always secure sail, equipment and personal items.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available online or at registration. VENUE The regatta will be held at Chicago Yacht Club Belmont Station which is located at 300 West Belmont Avenue, east of the intersec tion of Lake Shore Drive and Belmont Avenue in Chicago, IL. Racing will be on Lake Michigan, east of the Belmont Harbor ent rance.

SOCIAL AND SAILING SCHEDULE Please note, this schedule varies significantly from previous years. The clinic and regatta runs form Thursday through Sunday and not Friday through Monday.
