Sturt District Cricket Club STURT DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2017/18 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL STURT DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2017/18 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL ABOUT THE CLUB Born in the heart of the Sturt District in 1897, the SDCC has a very proud and distinguished history. The club has played a key role in the development, promotion and progress of the game in South Australia and has in recent times produced several Australian Test players, including Wayne “Flipper” Phillips, Shaun “The Wild Thing” Tait, Shelley Nitschke and Megan Schutt. Since its inception, the SDCC has achieved premiership success on over 100 occasions, the greatest number of any South Australian District Cricket club. We are extremely proud of this achievement and are striving to add to this tally in season 2017/18. 2010/11 Women’s A Grade T20 Final STURT DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2017/18 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL LOCATION The SDCC calls the picturesque Price Memorial Oval at Angas Road Hawthorn home and this is where we train and where post match gatherings and functions are held throughout the season. We have worked extremely hard to improve the standard of our playing and practice facilities. This has been recognised by the SACA and Cricket Australia as last year we were chosen to host matches in the Under 19 National Championships, including the quarter final. Price Memorial Oval before an U19 National Championship match STURT DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2017/18 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL THE COMPETITION The club has teams competing in all sanctioned men’s and women’s SACA Premier grade divisions, senior and junior, as well as two junior turf teams. Senior teams play in A, B, C and D Grades. Juniors play in the Under 17 BankSA Shield competition, Under 16 (two teams), Under 14 (two teams) and the Ray Sutton Shield for primary school students. Season 2017/18 also heralds the establishment of our Junior Cricket Academy which brings 50 new players and their families to the club. The club has over 225 playing members throughout the various grades. In addition, families of players and a legion of past players and supporters are involved with and follow the club closely. Mens A Grade in One Day Action STURT DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2017/18 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL OUR OBJECTIVES The SDCC continues to strive to be the most successful, professional and inclusive cricket club in South Australia. We aim to provide the best playing and practice conditions for our players and provide them with the best coaching possible such that the club can participate in and win finals on a consistent basis. We strive to create an environment that will enable our young cricketers to achieve their potential and in some cases not only represent the SDCC at the highest level but also the South Australian State Team and ultimately represent Australia at Test level. We are also extremely proud of our club culture such that our players and supporters enjoy being a part of the SDCC. We also consider it to be the responsibility of the SDCC to provide an environment for character development of our young cricketers and to providing a strong social network for our players and supporters. U14 Premiers 2015/16 STURT DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB SEASON 2017/18 SPONSORSHIP PROPOSAL SPONSORSHIP OFFERING Sponsorship plays a crucial role in enabling us to achieve our objectives. Sponsorship funds are all channelled back in to providing the best possible coaches and facilities for our players. The SDCC is com- mitted to working with businesses to ensure that mutual benefits are delivered. We consider the following to be reasons for sponsoring the SDCC: • 150 plus junior players and families. • 100 plus senior players and families. • A strong and engaged group of past players and families. • A rapidly growing legion of Facebook followers. • 350 plus email database and recipients of newsletters. • An active website (www.sturtdcc.com.au) We have already secured the following major sponsors for season 2017/18; 1. Our SACA Village Green on Adelaide Oval No. 2 is the envy of all other Test cricket grounds. The northern mound, scoreboard and simply the name “Adelaide Oval” create a cricket ambiance lost at so many other cricket grounds.
