Alphabet City will occupy the three ground-level storefronts of the former Masonic Temple building at the corner of West North Avenue and Reddour Street. Alphabet City will include a bookstore and free book distribution center, a performance space with broadcast and recording capabilities, areas for workshops and classes, and a restaurant with Internet access. COA/Pittsburgh is a globally recognized organization that draws people from around the city and artists from around the world to Allegheny City Central through its literary and cultural exchange programs. ACCA has been working closely with Allegheny City Development, the developers for the Garden Theater Block, to move forward with the long-awaited renaissance of the Federal Street / North Avenue corridor in Allegheny City Central. Joining Alphabet City will be Il Giardino, a restaurant by Domenic Branduzzi, owner of Piccolo Forno. As its name suggest, Il Giardino will occupy the Garden Theater itself.
