ISSUE NO.7 21 OCTOBER 2018 MESSAGE My fellow Scouts from the Asia-Pacific Region, there are only two words I can offer you with: thank you! After the long wait, we came to conclude this much awaited event. The cooperation of each National Scout Organization in the Region proved that Scouting is really in the heart of most of the people. Indeed, this event summed up our collective endeavour to engage the youth in worthwhile undertaking that would help them grow up to become better citizens of the world. Ambassador Ahmad Rusdi Photo: Lorwin B. Sayco Let me assure you that, we, in the Asia-Pacific Support Centre, are always here to extend our help to whoever needs them. The 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference came to a close with an exclamation point. The confer- ence charted its destiny, elected new officers, honored heroes, held leaders in high-esteem, recognized vol- unteers and staff and identified the next venue for the magnificent gathering. Participants went home with memories to keep, TAIWAN wisdom to imitate, knowledge to learn and happiness to share and the next Conference to look forward to with enthusiasm. But the Scouting job did not end at the Philippine International Convention Center on October 20, 2018; it began, right there. Indeed, Scouting does not end with just one successful event, it only rejuvenates itself after a grueling job to do better with the next. At the start of the Conference, the leaders rendered report to ensure that the Region has been living up to its promise to be the biggest and, probably, the most colorful Region in the Scouting world and as they often called it “The Great Scouting Region.” And it did. But as the Region took a step backward to take a look at its accomplish- ments, it also stepped forward to take a peak of what the future hold.
