Located south of Valencia, about 11 kilometres from the capital. Sagunto About 20 km from valencia. It was an ally of Rome when it was besieged and captured by the Cathaginians under Hannibal (218 BC). This led to the second Punic War. Sagunto was conquered by the Romans (214 BC) and made a Municipium.
