941723 I HVAE NEVER SEEN A SINGLE BIKE IN THE RACK AT DOW'S PRAIRIE. I RODE MY BIKE TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY STARTING 1ST GRADE. THERE ISN'T A SINGLE STREACH OF SIDEWALK ANYWHERE IN THE DOW'S PRAIRIE NEIGBORHOOD. THIS IS THE MOST OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH WALKING/BIKING TO SCHOOL. QUESTION #9 - IF WE HAD SIDEWALK QUESTION #13 - HASN'T WALKED OR BIKED.

941726 MY CHILD IS TOO YOUNG TO WALK ALONE TO SCHOOL.

941730 WE ALWAYS WALKED TO SCHOOL WHEN WE LIVED CLOSER TO IT. I STRONGLY FAVOR WALKING TO SCHOOL WITH MY CHILDREN.

941738 NOT LETTING HER RIDE BIKE TILL SHE'S OLDER

941771 MY CHILDREN WALK TO AND FROM THE BUS STOP ABOUT HALF A MILE.

941774 AT THIS POINT IN TIME I WOULD NOT ALLOW MY CHILDREN AT ANY AGE TO WALK OR BIKE TO SCHOOL DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC ON CENTRAL AVE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLES AND THERE IS NO SAFE PLACE TO BE ON THE ROAD. NO SAFE PLACE TO CROSS EITHER.

941804 WE WOULD WALK OR BIKE TO SCHOOL IF WE DIDN'T LIVE SO FAR AWAY. WE LIVE A VERY SHORT DISTANCE FROM MORRIS SCHOOL BUT DO NOT ATTEND DUE TO THE SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM IN PLACE THERE. IF THEY TAUGHT REGULAR CLASSES MY CHILDREN WOULD ATTEND THE SCHOOL THEY LIVE CLOSEST TO.

941806 WE HAVE A BUS STOP DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE BUT WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE IT DUE TO THE DRIVER'S CROSS MY CHILD - MAY I CROSS HER AT A CERTAIN AGE? IT WOULD BE CO SONVIENENT!! QUESTION #8 - FROM MORRIS SCHOOL

941860 WE LIVE TO FAR FOR MY CHILD TO WALK TO SCHOOL BUT SHE DOES WALK FROM HOME TO HER BUS STOP AT MORRIS ELEMENTARY

941885 I SIMPLY FEEL THAT IT IS UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN TO WALK TO SCHOOL WITHOUT AN ADULT NOWADAYS - SAD.

941894 WE LIVE TO FAR FOR REGULAR BIKE RIDING TO SCHOOL. WE TRIED IT ONCE AND IT TOOK ALMOT 1 HR.

941717 MY 2 OF FOUR BOYS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE SCHOOL CLOSEST TO OUR HOME. THEY ENTERED THE DISTRICT IN 3RD AND 5TH GRADE.

941721 5TH GRADER WALKS FROM MORRIS (BUS STOP) TO HOME WHEN WEATHER IS GOOD. KEN & I WALK WHENEVER POSSIBLE JUST FOR EXERCISE & FRESH AIR. QUESTION #9 - TO FAR

941728 WE LIVE TO FAR AWAY TO ANSWER SOME OF THESE QUESTIONS.

941740 I BELIEVE THE BIGGER PROBLEN WOULD BE THE FACT THAT THEIR IS A LOT OF SEX OFFENDERS IN MCKINLEYVILLE AND I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT LEAVING A 9 YEAR ALONE WHERE THE SCHOOL ISN'T ACROSS THE STREET. IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW IF OTHER KIDS IN THE AREA COULD WALK TOGETHER OR BIKE. BUDDY SYSTEM DATABASE! QUESTION #10 - W/OUT A BUDDY. MOSTLY ROAD BY BEAU PREA TO SCHOOL. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM PRESENT.

941741 THANKS FOR THE SURVEY IT IS WELL NEEDED AND SHOULD PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION.

941745 THE SCHOOL IS WAY TO FAR FOR A CHILD TO WALK. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL ISN'T AS FAR THAT'S WHEN HE WILLBE ABLE TO. I DON'T SEE HOW THEY COULD MAKE IT CLOSER

941747 SCHOOL IS VERY FAR AWAY SO WE CANNOT WALK. MORRIS ELEMENTARY WILL NOT ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO ENROLL BECAUSE THEY DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH OTHER WISE THEY WOULD GO TO THAT SCHOOL AND WE COULD RIDE BIKES.

941748 DISTANCE AND WEATHER ARE THE BIGGEST FACTORS FOR ME BUT I WOULD NEVER ALLOW MY CHILD (AND I DON'T) TO RIDE A BICYCLE ON DOWS PRAIRIE RD - ESPECIALLY AT HIGH TRAFFIC HRS. (SCHOOL PICK/DROP OFF). A WIDER ROAD WITH A BIKE LANE MIGHT AID THIS. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!1 QUESTION #9 - ONLY WITH A FRIEND

941751 WHAT DOES THIS SURVEY HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT YEAR I GRADUATED?

941755 CENTRAL & DOW'S PRAIRIE ROADS NEED SIDEWALKS!

Page 12 of 14 941762 A SIDE WALK CONNECTING SCHOOL TO OUR SIDEWALK IS NEEDED!!! ALSO SPEED BUMPS @ OUR END OF SCHOOL WERE CROSSWALK IS & SOMEWHERE @ THE END OF OUR SIDEWALK SOUTH OF SCHOOL!!!

941768 WE LIVE TOO FAR FROM DOW'S TO BIKE/WALK BUT EVEN IF WE WERE CLOSER THE LACK OF SIDEWALKS AROUND THE SCHOOL WOULD KEEP ME FROM ALLOWING MY CHILD TO BIKE/WALK.

941803 I FEEL SAFE ABOUT MY SON RIDING HIS BIKE TO AND FROM THE BUS STOP BECAUSE OF THE SHORT DISTANCE AND SIDEWALKS ACCESS AND A SECURE SAFE SPOT TO KEEP HIS BIKE! (@ MORRIS)

941867 QUESTION #11 - MAYBE

941869 BUS RIDES ARE TOO LONG. WALKING OR BIKING IS JUST NOT A SAFE OPTION.

941883 I ASSUME AT SOME POINT IN TIME MY CHILD WILL BIKE TO SCHOOL BUT THAT WILL BE MANY YEARS FROM NOW.

941889 QUESTION #12 - UNKNOWN

941897 WE ARE ONLY 1 1/2 BLOCKS FROM THE SCHOOL

941757 WE WOULD NEVER ALLOW OUR CHILD TO WALK/BIKE TO SCHOOL B/C IT'S JUST TOO FAR AWAY

941797 MY CHILDREN WALK OR RIDE BIKES TO MORRIS CHOOL WHERE THEY CATCH THE BUS TO DOW'S PRAIRIE SCHOOL. SO OUR SITUATION IS UNIQUE IN THAT WE LIVE 2 BLOCKS FROM MORRIS AND THE KIDS TAKE THE BUS.

941812 WE LIVE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF CENTRAL AND ARE ABOUT 2 MILES FROM DOW'S PRAIRIE SCHOOL. MY CHILDREN WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK BECAUSE OF DISTANCE AND LACK OF PATHS/SIDEWALKS & SPEED OF CENTRAL AVE TRAFFIC.

941817 QUESTION #6 - ARRIVE AT SCHOOL - DEPENDS ON WEAHTER

941841 NOT SAFE FOR MY KID'S TO WALK TO SCHOOL. DO TO THE R THAT GO'S FROM MY HOUSE TO SCHOOL CAR'S DIVE UP TO 45+ MILS N HOUR QUESTION #10 - DRIVING - SOMETIMES

941876 MY DAUGHTER CATCHES THE BUS FROM MMS - SHE WALKS TO & FROM MMS - I WOULDN'T ALLOW HER TO WALK TO DOWS PRAIRIE BECAUSE THERE ARE NO SIDEWALKS AND THE ROAD IS VERY NARROW.

941880 QUESTION #13 - DOESN'T WALK TO SCHOOL

941905 MY CHILD WALKS OR RIDES HER BIKE TO MORRIS SCHOOL THEN GETS PICKED UP BY A BUS AND RIDES TO DOW'S PRAIRIE SCHOOL

941735 QUESTION #13 - N/A QUESTION #14 - IF HE DID

941781 MAYBE ONCE HE IS IN 6TH GRADE & MUCH CLOSER TO HOME I WOULD THINK ABOUT IT. BUT HE IS WAY TOO YOUNG. WRITTEN ON SIDE OF BACK PAGE - HE'S 6 YRS OLD!

941815 WE LIVE TO FAR BUT IF WE WERE CLOSER I WOULD WALK MY SON TO SCHOOL

941827 WE LIVE 30 MILES FROM SCHOOL SO THIS IS NOT REALLY PERTINENT TO OUR SITUATION.

941828 IN MY OPINION CHILDREN UNDER AGE 11 SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO WALK TO SCHOOL UNLESS THE LIVE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET OR NEXT DOOR BUT EVEN THEN AN ADULT SHOULD BE WITH THEM

941839 QUESTION #8 - NOT POSSIBLE TO WALK THERE

941842 I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE KIDS RIDING BIKES AND WALKING HOWEVER THE ROUTES ARE NOT SAFE. NO BIKE LANES SHOULDERS OR SIDEWALKS IN MANY SURROUNDING AREAS. DEDICATED AND PAVED AND WALKING & BIKE TRAILS ARE WHAT IS NEEDED.

941795 LIVE NEXT TO MORRIS BUT AM FORCED TO GO TO DOWS

941840 WAS MADE 2 TRANSFER FROM MORRIS TO DOWS. EVEN THOUGH WE LIVE A BLOCK FROM MORRIS!

941878 A CHILD SHOULD NEVER WALK TO SCHOOL WITHOUT AN ADULT. IT IS NOT SAFE - TOO MANY SICK PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

941713 QUESTION #9 - DISTANCE

Page 13 of 14 941743 MY SON COULD EASILY WALK FROM OUR BUS STOP TO OUR HOME BUT WE AREN'T THERE TO SUPERVISE HIM. HE ATTENDS KIDS CLUB WITH HIS LITTLE SISTER.

941810 MY SON SPENDS EVERY OTHER WEEK WITH HIS FATHER WHO LIVES A HALF HOUR AWAY.

941811 MY CHILD DOESN'T BIKE TO SCHOOL BECAUSE OF DISTANCE. WHEN HE IS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL HE WILL EITHER WALK/BIKE

941856 HE'S TPP YOUNG & IT'S TOO FAR!

941884 I REALLY DON'T THINK WALKING TO/FROM SCHOOL IS AGOOD IDEA UNLESS THE PARENT IS WITH THE CHILD. IN THIS DAY/AGE THERE ARE TO MANY SICK PEOPLE ROAMING THE STREETS.

941908 MORE COMMENT SECTIONS ON YOUR SURVEY WOULD GET YOU THE MORE DETAILED OPINIONS YOU NEED. THIS SURVEY IS EXTREMELY VAGUE. WE LIVE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF 101. NO WAY WOULD I ALLOW MY CHILD TO RIDE THAT FAR.

941848 IT IS FROM BELLA VISTA TO DOW'S PRAIRIE!

941874 WE LIVE TO FAR FROM SCHOOL 10-15 MIN? AWAY. HIGHWAY IN BETWEEN.

941896 14. I STATED UNHEALTHY ON #14 DUE TO THE DANGERS INVOLVED IN HIM WALKING/BIKING TO/FROM SCHOOL.

941782 THE ROADS AROUND THE SCHOOL (LACK OF SHOULDER LACK OF SIDEWALK AND HIGH SPEED DRIVERS) MAKE IT UNSAFE FOR MY CHILDREN TO WALK AND/OR RIDE THEIR BIKES TO SCHOOL.

941843 THIS WORLD IS WAY TOO UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN TO TRANSPORT THEMSELVES TO SCHOOL.

941736 QUESTION #10 - DISTANCE - WE LIVE IN ANOTHER TOWN QUESTIONS #12 THRU #14 - N/A

941854 WE LIVE TO FAR FROM THE SCHOOL FOR MY CHILD TO CONSIDER WALKING OR RIDING HIS BIKE. THE TRAFFIC IS WAY TO SCARY TO LET HIM GO ALONE.
