If comparing percentages between the two columns, please pay particular attention to each column's number of respondents because the two numbers can differ dramatically. I RODE MY BIKE TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY STARTING 1ST GRADE. THERE ISN'T A SINGLE STREACH OF SIDEWALK ANYWHERE IN THE DOW'S PRAIRIE NEIGBORHOOD. THIS IS THE MOST OBVIOUS PROBLEM WITH WALKING/BIKING TO SCHOOL. QUESTION #9 - IF WE HAD SIDEWALK QUESTION #13 - HASN'T WALKED OR BIKED. 941726 MY CHILD IS TOO YOUNG TO WALK ALONE TO SCHOOL. 941730 WE ALWAYS WALKED TO SCHOOL WHEN WE LIVED CLOSER TO IT. I STRONGLY FAVOR WALKING TO SCHOOL WITH MY CHILDREN. 941738 NOT LETTING HER RIDE BIKE TILL SHE'S OLDER 941771 MY CHILDREN WALK TO AND FROM THE BUS STOP ABOUT HALF A MILE. 941774 AT THIS POINT IN TIME I WOULD NOT ALLOW MY CHILDREN AT ANY AGE TO WALK OR BIKE TO SCHOOL DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC ON CENTRAL AVE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLES AND THERE IS NO SAFE PLACE TO BE ON THE ROAD. NO SAFE PLACE TO CROSS EITHER. 941804 WE WOULD WALK OR BIKE TO SCHOOL IF WE DIDN'T LIVE SO FAR AWAY. WE LIVE A VERY SHORT DISTANCE FROM MORRIS SCHOOL BUT DO NOT ATTEND DUE TO THE SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM IN PLACE THERE. IF THEY TAUGHT REGULAR CLASSES MY CHILDREN WOULD ATTEND THE SCHOOL THEY LIVE CLOSEST TO. 941806 WE HAVE A BUS STOP DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE BUT WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE IT DUE TO THE DRIVER'S NEED TO CROSS MY CHILD - MAY I CROSS HER AT A CERTAIN AGE? IT WOULD BE CO SONVIENENT!! QUESTION #8 - FROM MORRIS SCHOOL 941860 WE LIVE TO FAR FOR MY CHILD TO WALK TO SCHOOL BUT SHE DOES WALK FROM HOME TO HER BUS STOP AT MORRIS ELEMENTARY 941885 I SIMPLY FEEL THAT IT IS UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN TO WALK TO SCHOOL WITHOUT AN ADULT NOWADAYS - SAD. 941894 WE LIVE TO FAR FOR REGULAR BIKE RIDING TO SCHOOL. WE TRIED IT ONCE AND IT TOOK ALMOT 1 HR. 941717 MY 2 OF FOUR BOYS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE SCHOOL CLOSEST TO OUR HOME. THEY ENTERED THE DISTRICT IN 3RD AND 5TH GRADE. 941721 5TH GRADER WALKS FROM MORRIS (BUS STOP) TO HOME WHEN WEATHER IS GOOD. KEN & I WALK WHENEVER POSSIBLE JUST FOR EXERCISE & FRESH AIR. QUESTION #9 - TO FAR 941728 WE LIVE TO FAR AWAY TO ANSWER SOME OF THESE QUESTIONS. 941740 I BELIEVE THE BIGGER PROBLEN WOULD BE THE FACT THAT THEIR IS A LOT OF SEX OFFENDERS IN MCKINLEYVILLE AND I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT LEAVING A 9 YEAR ALONE WHERE THE SCHOOL ISN'T ACROSS THE STREET. IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW IF OTHER KIDS IN THE AREA COULD WALK TOGETHER OR BIKE. BUDDY SYSTEM DATABASE! QUESTION #10 - W/OUT A BUDDY. MOSTLY ROAD BY BEAU PREA TO SCHOOL. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM PRESENT. 941741 THANKS FOR THE SURVEY IT IS WELL NEEDED AND SHOULD PROVIDE ACCURATE INFORMATION. 941745 THE SCHOOL IS WAY TO FAR FOR A CHILD TO WALK. THE MIDDLE SCHOOL ISN'T AS FAR THAT'S WHEN HE WILLBE ABLE TO. I DON'T SEE HOW THEY COULD MAKE IT CLOSER 941747 SCHOOL IS VERY FAR AWAY SO WE CANNOT WALK. MORRIS ELEMENTARY WILL NOT ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO ENROLL BECAUSE THEY DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH OTHER WISE THEY WOULD GO TO THAT SCHOOL AND WE COULD RIDE BIKES.
