Language Learning mobile app. As in the Encore!!! Language Learning app, the L1-L2 method is used where L1 is a helping language (one that a user knows) and L2 is the target language the user wishes to learn. English is used as a pairing language (i.e. either L1 or L2). In the app the user has the flexibility to turn off the helping language to have a total immersion experience or keep it turned on to have a semi-immersive learning experience. In the Encore!!!! App the user can also make playlists of items in the library, choose how many times an item is repeatedly spoken and how much pause is needed between each vocal. The user can also take a test after learning to see how well the language has been learnt. Finally the user can add new items to expand the library. Encore!!! Language Learning development team has researched the basic components of a language that need to be learnt so a new learner can communicate comfortably with a native person on most of the basic activities in daily life. Our team members not only attended eight language schools around the world covering 12 different languages, they also consulted with a dozen native language speakers to finalize the content that is presented here. Note of course that the vocabulary level of a native speaker even at a high school level will most likely be five times greater than what is presented here. There are several challenges to learning any language: 1. Memorization of new words: To be able to comfortably communicate in a new language with native speakers in most areas of interest one needs to know around 3000 unique words. A native speaker may know around 20000 unique words so 3000 represents only a small part just enough for most conversations. To have a comfortable and stress free conversations these words have to be understood or recalled and spoken in less than a second. 2. One needs to grasp how the words are ordered in a sentence so there is no confusion. In addition to this simple grammar rule of order of words the more challenging aspect of language is the way words change from their basic form. 3. Pronunciation: Vocals are essential in communication unless one is using sign language. New sounds need to be learnt and made when new words are learnt. Over 100 muscles in the jaw, tongue, throat are needed along with the cavity of the skull and the positioning of the tongue and teeth. This is in addition to learning the rules of how the written words are to be pronounced. To overcome this most difficult of language challenges one has to articulate hundreds of times, even by oneself. Also it is important to be courageous so as not to be disheartened when one mispronounces and ignore the occasional mocking that a native speaker may do. 4. Even after memorizing the vocabulary it turns out that words change their form in real conversation to fully convey the intention of the speaker. This is part of learning the grammar rules. If in one’s native language words change in a different manner the brain tries to rebel against the new rules. However, one has to be flexible and simply put in the effort to learn these new rules. Expanding of the fourth point, here are some ways how word forms change: i) In most languages time when something occurred is conveyed through verb form change. ŕ Ġ Ě -ĔĄŢ Ě : İ ķ ∂ Ďŝ Ď 14 ii) In some languages nouns (including inanimate nouns) are gendered and verb form is changed to convey gender. Examples are Romance languages, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, etc. iii) In some languages possessive pronouns are absorbed into nouns.

Three women directors, whose movies have left an indelible mark on the audiences, include Tanuja Chandra, Meghna Gulzar and Gauri Shinde. This paper analyses the work of these three women directors, for the uniqueness of their themes and the characters they have sketched, and attempts to find out, what has led to their films being etched deeply, into the consciousness of their audience. This will be analysed against the backdrop of the realities of the society from which these films emerge, and as a reflection of the gender dynamics existing in Indian society. In Nepal, this institution always works as the structure to fulfill the interest of the state. Sex, violence and politics are main reasons of cinema censorship but meaning and acceptance of these issues are changing in Nepal. This article argues that it is right time to rethink the work of the censor board. Instead of scissoring cinemas, it has to grade them. Introduction Cinema/Film Censor Board is a small entity of a film industry, and it is a global practice. However, who forms this entity differs among countries. For example, in Britain and the US, film industries have established this mechanism. But in countries like India and Nepal, the state has established the censor board and the board is basically the machinery of state control. It orders to scissor the scenes which it feels objectionable/harmful to the society and the state. It even denies certification to movies and dubs them banned if the whole cinema is assumed to be unsuitable for the state and society. 1 This article is a longer version of what I published in Republica (Maharjan, 2010) . There is a wide held belief that co-occurrence of mental disorders and underlying religious or spiritual problems is found. Local and community belief in such phenomena appeared to be a factor in influencing the decision to seek Magico- Religious treatment. The study was done with the objective to determine the attitudes of the primary care taker with respect to Magico-Religious beliefs which can have impact on treatment seeking behavior and timely consultation to the psychiatrist for underlying condition. Materials and Method: Consecutive fifty primary care takers who accompanied the patient and gave consent were included in the study. The supernatural Attitude questionnaire developed to study the magico religious beliefs was applied to the primary care taker. Both parametric and non parametric statistical tools were applied to analyze the variables. Results: About 48% believed that performing magico-religious rituals could improve the behavior of the patients and 76% of the primary caretakers visited faith healer for this purpose. Association between Magico-religious treatment group and non-magico-religious treatment group with different variables like Age, Sex, Religion, Socio- Economic Status, Education and Occupation, were compared, which shows that, all the variables were comparable and the P-value was not significant.
