HOW MANY AUDIOBOOKS HAVE YOU READ THIS YEAR? I have read 51 audiobooks this year. Of those, I listened to 30 on cloudLibrary, 16 on Hoopla and 5 books-on-CD. WHEN DO YOU LISTEN TO AUDIOBOOKS? The better question is, when don’t I? I listen to them while I commute back and forth to work. I listen while I fold laundry, garden and do other housework. I also like to sit on my porch with my cat curled up in my lap and a psychological thriller on my phone. What’s really fun is when my husband and I go on trips and I find an audiobook that we will both enjoy. Usually they end up being sci-fi or biographies. Together we have listened to Bossypants by Tina Fey, Ready Player One by Ernest Clive and many Bill Bryson books. But my favorite time to read audiobooks is the hour before I go to bed to wind down from the day. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT AUDIOBOOKS? I love hearing names and words that aren’t necessarily in English. Last year I read a book called The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani. It’s about a Pakistani family. I was able to hear how the names of people, cities and food are said instead of sounding the names out incorrectly. Your Library card gives you access to thousands of audiobooks, absolutely WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE NARRATORS? free!
