I. Introduction TIBCO MFT Platform Server Agent 7.0 is now generally available. MFT Platform Server Agent has been enhanced to support an advanced form of compression, which enables greater efficiency during file transfers.

MFT Platform Server Agent is a light weight, Java based version of the full featured MFT Platform Server. MFT Platform Server Agent enables secure, controlled, high volume file-transfer activity on virtually all platforms that utilize a Java JDK. With the power of MFT Platform Server Agent, users can transfer critical business files between applications, integrate data from a network of stores or branch locations, or send large files to an offshore data center. Each installed MFT Platform Server Agent enables cross-platform transfers and ensures that all files are tracked and approved before leaving the server. A full range of encryption algorithms, built-in security and authentication options ensure data is completely secure at every stage in the process.

MFT Platform Server Agent is perfect for platforms not currently supported by the full featured MFT Platform Server such as MacOS X, HP NonStop (Tandem) and HP OpenVMS.

III. Pre-requisites MFT Platform Server Agent 7.0 can be installed on virtually any platform that is capable of supporting the required Java JDK 1.5 or higher such as:

• HP NonStop (Tandem) OSS • OpenVMS Alpha (note that VAX platforms do not support Java, a required component) • SCO UNIX • Macintosh Leopard and Snow Leopard

IV. New Enhancement • Added support for ZLIB compression

ZLIB compression is now available for bi-directional file transfers between MFT Platform Server Agent and MFT Platform server. The ZLIB algorithm speeds up transfers and lowers network utilization.

V. New Fix

• Resolved an issue when MFT Platform Server downloads a file from MFT Internet Server or MFT Platform Server Agent and requests A_E conversion + Encryption.
