u Bound Brook welcomes “Halloween Around the World” Oct. 27-Nov. 2 u Trunk-or-Treat kicks off week-long promotion for downtown business district ______

BOUND BROOK, NJ — Bound Brook Revitalization Partnership’s annual “Trunk-or-Treat” event serves as the kickoff for “Bound Brook Welcomes Halloween Around the World”, a week-long promotion highlighting the borough’s diverse downtown business district.

The free Trunk-or-Treat candy giveaway takes place Saturday, Oct. 27 from noon to 3:00 p.m. in the NJ Transit parking lot at E. Main Street and Mountain Ave. in downtown Bound Brook. After young Halloweeners fill their bags with candy, they can participate in a costume contest and win a trophy while enjoying choral selections from The Addams Family performed by Bound Brook High School Drama Club.

Afterwards, the Partnership hopes their parents will return during the following week and sample the district’s two dozen international-flavored restaurants, a show at the historic Brook Theater, an art exhibit at Hamilton Street Gallery, or live music at venues including Westbrook Restaurant and Bar, Café Imperial, Trackside Bar and Grill, Cheers Sports Bar and Miraflores Peruvian Restaurant.

“From Oct. 27 through Nov. 2, we’re encouraging our businesses to feature a special Halloween-themed promotion or discount,” says downtown manager Lawrence McCullough. “It might be anything from Día de los Muertos as celebrated in Mexico, Dziady in Eastern Europe, Ognissanti and Il Giorno dei Morti throughout Italy, Fete Gede in Haiti, Samhain’s Eve from Ireland or just traditional American Halloween.”
