/Transportation guide/ FROM Tokyo Narita Int’l Airport TO Nagoya City The recommended way is to take one of the 1000-yen airport buses from the airport to Tokyo Station. Then get on the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Nagoya. OR < 1000-yen Airport Buses: “THE Access Narita” or “Tokyo Shuttle”> Narita Airport (Terminal 1, 2, 3) –> 東京駅Tokyo Station Fare: JPY1,000. You can pay directly on the bus (for THE Access Narita), or buy before boarding at the nearby counter (for Tokyo Shuttle, it is required). Duration: 65-75 min. They run every 10-20 min. >>> Transfer >>> Cross the street from the bus stop at Tokyo Station, and you will see ticket offices for the JR Tokaido Shinkansen, inside the station building. (When using Tokyo Shuttle, the stop is just a bit far, and JR Tokyo Station it looks different from the picuture shown.) < JR東海道新幹線 JR Tokaido Shinkansen > 東京Tokyo –> 名古屋Nagoya Direction/Headsign: 新大阪Shin-Osaka,岡山Okayama, 広島Hiroshima, or 博多Hakata…ALL trains stop at 名古屋Nagoya. Nozomi (fastest), Hikari (second fastest), Kodama (slowest) are all usable, but Nozomi (fastest) is recommended. Duration: varies between 1h40min. (fastest) to 2h50min. (slowest) Runs almost every 10 min. Fare: JPY10,360 (for non-reserved seats). Credit cards accepted. No seat reservations required (unless you wish to have one). If you are not sure how to use the ticket vending machine, go to the ticket counter and ask in person. < When you arrive in Nagoya > -There are numerous hotels in the City of Nagoya (downtown), and most of them are within 5-10 min. walk from one of the subway stations.
