The 4WD version offers the choice of three different transmission modes. On normal sealed roads in dry conditions, the 2WD mode optimises the 4008’s excellent fuel efficiency. Navigating dirt roads or driving in heavy rain? Switch to the automatic 4WD mode and the system will distribute torque between the front and rear axles to maximise traction. Driving in snow, heading off-road into sand dunes or muddy fields? Select the 4WD Lock mode and you’ll be in permanent all-wheel drive with 50/50 front to rear torque distribution.

Multiple airbags In the event of a collision, seven airbags can deploy to protect the driver and passengers of the 4008. • Two front driver and passenger airbags deploy according to the intensity of the collision • One knee airbag helps protect the driver • Two side airbags, positioned within the seats, are designed to protect the thorax, abdomen and waist of the front passenger and driver • Two additional airbags are designed to protect the head and thorax of the driver, front passenger and side rear passengers.

ESP As with all Peugeot passenger vehicles, the 4008 comes with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard. ESP comprises: • Anti-lock brakes (ABS) prevent braking wheels from locking up in an emergency stop, thereby enabling the driver to maintain steering control. • Traction control (ASR) activates the braking and engine management system to prevent the driven wheels from spinning in slippery conditions. • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) continuously monitors and compares data from the steering wheel sensor and the yaw sensor to detect any under or oversteer, then uses the braking and engine management systems to keep you on course.

ASSISTED PARKING Parking the 4008 is simple, assisted by both visual and audio devices. A camera activates automatically when reverse gear is selected, and the view behind appears on the rear view mirror (or on the 7” dashboard display if the GPS option has been chosen). Then at the same time, integrated rear sensors detect obstacles and alert the driver with an audible signal.
