Clients receive a DVD of the interview, hours each which also incorporates photographs and music. 5 The 2015 Dempsey Challenge The 7th annual Dempsey Challenge took place on October 17-18. The Challenge continues to be the primary fundraiser for the Dempsey Center, allowing us to provide all of our services at no cost. More than participants raised a fundraiser, the Challenge is an impactful community event that brings people together to spread hope and raise awareness.Thanks to our generous event sponsors, every dollar raised by participants directly benefits the Dempsey Center. $1,228,614+ Participants hailed from states 35 and foreign 6 countries 1,100+ volunteers donated their time and talents “The volunteers at the Dempsey Challenge made it the best. It was a cold and windy day for a 50-mile bike ride, but the enthusiasm of the volunteers and the many citizens cheering for us along the way made our day very special. You should all be proud of yourselves. I can’t stop talking about my experience. I can’t wait for next year.” - Rick Bach, York 6 2016 Dempsey Challenge: October 1 & 2 Register today at dempseychallenge.org 394 teams – from businesses to families and friends joined together to participate cyclists participated in the new Two-Day Ride presented 21 by Specialized 7 NAMED SPACES In 2015, we named two spaces at the Dempsey Center, both of which were dedicated during Dempsey Challenge weekend. In 2015, the Positive Tracks program returned for its fifth year with the Dempsey Challenge and the third year as the presenting sponsor of the 5K & 10K Run/ Walk. Positive Tracks encourages young people to get active and give back on their own turf and terms by plugging into charity athletic events. Through the program, all funds raised by those 23-or-under are matched (up to $200,000 in 2015) and youth independent fundraising projects are highlighted and celebrated throughout event weekend. Positive Tracks participants 23-or-under raised 833 Leisa’s Place our lending library, donated in memory of Leisa Crane by her husband Charlie and her friends $128,232 who love to read. Adult participants and matching funds raised the Postive Tracks total to $401,698 Hannaford Demonstration Kitchen home to our nutrition programs and consults, donated by the Hannaford Charitable Foundation. 8 Financial Statement A total of $2,385,762 was raised in fiscal year 2015 to support the Dempsey Center.
