*NEW* Perpetual Adoration Chapel Open Once Again The Perpetual Adoration Chapel which had been closed for renovations is now OPEN! The Chapel is located at Holy Cross Parish, 252 Dubuc St., Winnipeg. What a blessed opportunity this is for the faithful to come and spend time in the company of our Lord Jesus who is fully present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist. The chapel is open to people of all parishes. Persons who are interested in going to the chapel should go to the Holy Cross Parish Office to obtain an access pass card. Also, one can sign up for a regular time within the twenty-four hours of a day on a weekly basis, to be with the Eucharistic Lord. The Marriage, Family and Life (MFL) Teams at Mary, Mother of the Church & St. Timothy Parish are joining together to offer a Christian movie viewing of the hit ‘Fireproof’ at the parish (85 Kirkbridge Dr.) on Friday, February 21 at 7 PM. ‘Fireproof’ is a powerful story about saving a marriage that is on the rocks. In it, a firefighter embarks on a 40-day challenge called ‘The Love Dare’. All are welcome! Additionally, a 6-week small group study will be offered for those that would like to go deeper during Lent. Meetings will be held on Monday evenings at 7 PM, from February 24 until April 6 at the MMOC parish. *UPDATE* Scholarship Opportunity to study Christian-Jewish Relations in Rome If you are a student under the age of 30 and have an interest in the study of Christian-Jewish Relations, the Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University (Rome/) is offering scholarships, valued at 9,000 Euros per student, per year for up to two years. *NEW* Craft, Cost and Call : How to Build a Life as a Christian Writer – February 28, 2020 Join authors Patricia Paddey and Karen Stiller as they celebrate the release of their new writing book, Craft, Cost & Call: How to Build a Life as a Christian Writer, while in lively conversation with musician, author, and activist Steve Bell. Patricia Paddey is a writer, editor, and director of communications for Wycliffe College in Toronto. She has co-authored several books about the Church in and the world and has a Master of Theological Studies from McMaster Divinity College. Karen Stiller is a writer, editor, and a senior editor with Faith Today magazine. Winnipeg’s own Steve Bell is a recording artist of 20 albums, multiple Juno-award winner, and a writer of songs, articles, and books, most recently Pilgrim Year, reflections on the spirituality of the Christian liturgical calendar. Day of Prayer for Canadian Home Missions – February 9, 2020 On the weekend of February 9, a new initiative called the Day of Prayer for Canadian Home Missions will be adopted by our Archdiocese. Prayer cards will be in the pews so that we may offer prayer together and bring strength to fellow Canadian Catholics and their missionaries. We will also be holding a special collection to raise funds for Catholic Missions in Canada to be allocated to help Canadian Bishops, including Bishop Albert LeGatt, subsidize the costs of maintaining and sustaining their missionaries and missions. Separated, Divorced & End of a long-term relationship Workshop – Begins February, 2020 Let 2020 be your year of Healing! Holy Rosary Church will be starting another 13-week workshop to help in the healing from the pain of a relationship break up. The workshop is free, the workbook used is $25. Past participants have found healing, comfort and friendship. Come and join others who know and understand the pain, the fear, and the dream. Dates and times will be determined once we have enough participants registered, program will start in mid to late February. Cana Session for Couples CANA is a six-day session for couples to strengthen their marriage and deepen their spiritual life, offered by the Chemin Neuf Community at the St. Charles Retreat Centre. The live-in session includes talks, prayer, time together as a couple, relaxation and celebration. In 2020 Cana will be offered over three weekends: April 25-26, May 15-17, and June 6-7. Couples sleep at the Centre and must commit to all three weekends. Couples can bring their children to the middle, three-day weekend.
