It will play a significant role to address the unexpected disasters that occur in the district effectively. The information available in DDMP is valuable in terms of its use during disaster. Based on the history of various disasters that occur in the district, the plan has been so designed. This plan has been prepared based on the guidelines provided by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The District Disaster Management Plan developed involves some significant issues like Hazard, Risk and Vulnerability, Incident Response System (IRS) and the response mechanism in disaster management. The plan is mainly focused on drought mitigation and ground water conservation measures. We have started rejuvenation of Rivers, Kalyanis, Kere Kunte, open wells (Bavi) and also have constructed Multi-Arc Check Dams to improve Surface/Ground water. There are many projects in the pipeline project for Water Supply such as Yethinahole drinking water project, KC & HN Valley pipeline project to fill tanks and recharge ground water. Reserving the land for Hasiru Karnataka (Plantation), Green Fund for the plantation purpose, Rain water harvesting for Public/Private building are made compulsory to address drinking water crisis. -

Today we need to pay immediate attention to eradicate this problem. The state of Karnataka has taken up this work with zeal, giving it all the due attention. Apart from the universllisation of primary education, literacy mission and post literacy programmes have been Implemented throughout the state in the last one decade. Later the Kannada Nadu-Sakshara Nadu (Meaning 'Karanataka a literate land'), refreshed Integrated campaign has also been implemented. As a result of this 56.07 lakhs people in the age group of 9-35 years have been given basic literacy. The literacy rate has gone up by 11 % during 1991-2001. -

Utmost attention has been paid to make it handy, precise rather than bulky one. This plan has been prepared which is based on the lines of National Disaster Management Plan 2019 and Karnataka State Disaster Management Plan 20-21. While preparing this plan, most of the issues, relevant to crisis management, have been carefully dealt with. Plan Comprises of Understanding the Risk, Preparedness, Mitigation, Capacity Development, Disaster Risk Reduction, Rehabilitation and Build Back Better. Efforts have been made to collect and develop this plan to make it more applicable and effective to handle any type of disaster. Chikkaballapur District has Geographical area of 4254 sq km which has covered most of the dry/ wet lands and facing every year by Drought all over the district for consecutive of about 8 years out of 10 years, while not all natural calamities can be predicted and prevented. -

Annual Report 2018-19 Rejuvenate India Movement Message from the President We have great pleasure in presenting the 18th Annual Report of Rejuvenate India Movement (RIM). This report reflects the collectivism and passion by different civil society groups, organizations and individuals in the process of enabling and empowering our rural, tribal and needy communities. RIM continued its journey of training and supporting grassroots change agents, Samaj Shilpis, towards enabling and empowering communities towards self-reliance. At the same time RIM’s new initiatives that started in 2017-18 like school libraries, sustainable menstrual hygiene, life skills and education support for adolescent girls are moving ahead and getting deepened. During the year 2018-19, 35 Samaj Shilpis worked in 50 villages in 31 Gram Panchayats and 72 schools in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. The Samaj Shilpi is like a community level facilitator, who works on the felt needs and priorities of the communities in enabling the villagers, empowering the needy by connecting them with government schemes and welfare programs. This year’s highlight is the work of Samaj Shilpis in Madhya Pradesh. They assisted villagers access individual and community level entitlements to the tune of Rs. 646 lakhs covering more than 12000 beneficiaries, a testimony to their facilitating role. The Tamil Nadu Samaj Shilpis worked in 22 villages in three Gram Panchayats, covering 833 beneficiaries linking them with schemes for building toilets, construction of cattle sheds and fodder cultivation. One of their major contributions was forming a Honey Collector’s group of traditional honey collectors to collect and process honey in an organized manner. -

District Mineral Survey Report PREAMBLE
District Mineral Survey Report PREAMBLE With reference to MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION, NEW DELHI. GOVT OF INDIA Vide Gazette Notification of 15th January and 20th January-2016, the “District Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority” (DEIAA) and “District Level Expert Appraisal Committee” (DEAC) are to be constituted under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner at a district level for stream lining the process of environmental clearance for mining of minor minerals. The DEAC will scrutinize and recommend the prior environmental clearance of mining of minor minerals on the basis of District Survey Report to the DEIAA. This will a model and guiding document which is a compendium of available mineral resources, geographical set up, environmental and ecological set up of the district and replenishment of minerals and is based on data of various departments, published reports, journals and websites. The Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, made Environmental Clearance (EC) for mining of minerals mandatory through its Notification of 27th January, 1994 under the provisions of Environment Protection Act, 1986.Keeping in view the experience gained in environmental clearance process over a period of one decade, the MoEFCC came out with Environmental Impact Notification, SO 1533 (E), dated 14th September 2006. It has been made mandatory to obtain environmental clearance for different kinds of development projects as listed in Schedule-1 of the Notification. Further, In pursuance to the order of Hon’ble Supreme Court dated the 27th February, 2012 in I.A. No.12- 13 of 2011 in Special Leave Petition (SLP) (C) No.19628-19629 of 2009, in the matter of Deepak Kumar etc.
