Uvod Cilj Strateškog razvojnog programa Općine Matulji za razdoblje od 2016. do 2020. je pridonijeti gospodarskom i društvenom razvoju Općine, u skladu s načelima održivog razvoja te stvaranjem uvjeta koji će poduzetnicima omogućavati jačanje konkurentnosti i realizaciju razvojnog potencijala, a stanovnicima osiguravati visok životni standard. Misija, strateški razvojni okvir i akcijski plan provedbe razvojnih i potpornih projekata Općine Matulji izrađuju se s ciljem proaktivnog upravljanja razvojem Općine, povećanja životnog standarda njenih stanovnika i lakšeg kandidiranja projekata na fondove EU i ostale dostupne izvore financiranja. Na društveni razvoj i blagostanje stanovnika moguće je utjecati poticanjem, strukturiranjem i postizanjem održivog razvoja na području cijele Općine, uz uvažavanje mogućnosti i kompleksnosti različitih situacija, primjenu primjerenih postupaka i instrumenata, a s ciljem postizanja gospodarskog razvoja, razvoja institucija civilnog društva i zaštite okoliša. Za potrebe izrade strateškog razvojnog programa Općine Matulji predviđeno je i održano sedam tematskih radnih skupina. Tematske radne skupine bile su vezane uz razvoj društvenih djelatnosti, turizma, poljoprivrede i ruralnog razvoja, javne uprave i infrastrukture te poduzetništva i ostalih gospodarskih aktivnosti, a popis sudionika dan je u nastavku. Strateški razvojni program Općine Matulji za razdoblje od 2016. do 2020. godine razvijat će se u dvije faze. Rezultat prve faze izrade strateškog razvojnog programa Općine je ovaj dokument pod nazivom Analiza stanja u Općini Matulji. U drugoj fazi izrade bit će definirana vizija i misija Općine, strateški ciljevi, prioriteti i mjere za njihovu realizaciju. Rezultat druge faze razvojnog procesa strateškog okvira je dokument naziva „Strateški razvojni program Općine Matulji za razdoblje od 2016. do 2020.“ Izrada Strateškog razvojnog programa Općine Matulji uključivala je dionike koji žive i rade na području Općine Matulji kroz tematske radne skupine tijekom kojih su se identificirale ključne karakteristike Općine, kao i prepoznavala područja za daljni razvoj. Radne skupine su podijeljene na 5 tematskih područja: 1. Društvene djelatnosti (3 radne skupine) a. Odgoj i obrazovanje b. Kultura i sport c. Zdravstvena djelatnost i socijalna skrb 2. Maximum efforts must be invested in achieving recognisability and competitive advantages on the international tourist market. The purpose of the paper was to point out the importance of Opatija Riviera as a tourist destination in function of contributing the development of a Croatian tourist product. The goal of the paper was to give the presentation of the importance of researching the satisfaction with the offer of a tourist destination. It is necessary to reposition the current position of the Opatija Riviera on the tourist market and to, through adequate promotion of the tourist destination, increase the tourist turnover.
