(Seems the ridicule of an innocent man on the occasion of his 40th birthday is still legal in this country.) Picture the children’s-play-area ball pit at your local pizza joint or fast-food establishment, only with more insults and (slightly) less bacteria. “Friends” had engulfed my desk in a sea of black balloons, each emblazoned with a different dig from a clever co-worker. Excavating the area like a young Indiana Jones, I read everything from “our interns were born when you were in high school” to “you know you’re 40 when someone offers you a seat on the monorail…and you don’t refuse.” While I may have been surprised (and, truth be told, delighted) by the extremity of the effort, I wasn’t surprised by the effort itself. Having now been part of the Disney Vacation Club Cast family for the better part of a decade, I know how much this team loves to celebrate. From births to birthdays, awards to anniversaries, changes in our community to changes in humidity, rare is the month that doesn’t bring cause for celebration. To be eligible for initial consideration, nominees were required to have a GPA of 3.0 or better and at least 60 credit hours. Academic awards, campus involvement, community involvement and contributions to USC and other women were also considered. The six women chosen selected as fi nalists range from third to fourth-year students and hail from South Carolina, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Each of the finalists differs from her fellow ladies in terms of majors, activities and backgrounds, but all six said they were surprised to fi nd out they had been selected as a fi nalist.

    Tough Pigs Yearbook 2014 The World’s Most Dangerous Yearbook compiled by Ryan Roe Greetings, Tough Friends! The year 2014 AD was an eventful one for Muppets and Muppet fans. We got a whole new movie (the one that didn’t have Jason Segel), with a marketing push that seemed even bigger than the one for that last movie (the Jason Segel one). Which meant we actually stayed on topic in a lot of threads! Quoted threads are arranged here in chronological order, accompanied by a notation as to who nominated each one. At the back of the yearbook you’ll find an index, which is guaranteed to not be very helpful at all. So that’s something to look forward to. Worth checking out: The “Muppet Fan Confessions” thread, in which many of us finally came clean about our unconventional opinions. There was too much of it to reproduce here in the yearbook, but you should definitely go read it here. You’ll be shocked to find out who dislikes which Muppet classic, and you’ll have a great time highlighting spoiler text.
