Yorktown’s Wine Festival to Feature Wine Tastings, Live Music, Food Trucks, and More than 30 Vendors

Tickets are on sale for the Yorktown Wine Festival – The Best of and Beyond! This annual event is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, from 12 to 6 p.m., and is presented by Village Events Ltd. Proceeds benefit the York Foundation for Public Education as well as the Victory YMCA. The festival showcases more than a dozen Virginia wineries, cideries, and internationally featured wines for unlimited tastings! This expanded sampling is an effort to show that Yorktown shares more than just history with its sister cities Zweibrücken and Port-Vendres. In a nod to both countries, ticket holders will be able to sample Rieslings from Germany and indulge in sparkling wine from France.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND… this year’s admission ticket once again includes entry to a designated Virginia Craft garden near the fountain featuring limited tastings (20 per ticket holder) of specialty brews from Alewerks Company, Billsburg Brewery, Bold Rock Hard , Devils Backbone Brewery, Larry’s Original Hard Lemonade, and St. George Brewing Company. Full cup sales will also be available. Several food trucks and food vendors will sell everything from seafood to BBQ. Look for Boyd’s Tasty Dogs, Caribbean Styled Baked Goods/ISLSNAC, The Great Wicomico Oyster Company, Kathi’s Clam Chowder, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pop’s Kettle Corn, Riverwalk Restaurant, SMOKE BBQ, The Scottish Pig, and VA Blue Crab. You’ll also find an eclectic lineup of more than 30 different local artists, businesses, and attractions.

Live entertainment begins at 12:30 p.m. with Vinyl Headlights – a fun group familiar to Yorktown and whose playlist spans decades of hits from pop, rock, dance, country, and hip hop. Then, at 3:30, Party Fins brings the classics of Jimmy Buffet as island music dances in the breeze blowing in off the York River. Even the Craft Beer Garden will have music this year, with the sounds of The Bryan Forrest Band. Tickets are available for purchase at eight different locations throughout the County, as well as online: $30 in advance and $35 at the gates on the day of the festival.
