Dear Parents Air Ambulance Just to follow up from our fund-raising day last Friday, we collected £100 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity! Many thanks for all your donations which will be passed on to them.

Cycle Skills Training A total of fourteen children from Year 5 and 6 embarked on a two day course of Cycle Skills with instructors from the ERYC Road Safety Team. They endured a real mixture of weather on their outdoor sessions, so well done all of you! Every child passed their Level 1 and Level 2 stages of the course, which is brilliant! Certificates were presented in our assembly today and we all congratulated our pupils on achieving the skills required.

Orienteering Festival Regrettably, owing to the torrential rain, Secondary School made the decision to cancel the orienteering, but hopefully we will find out when the new date has been set. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Tour de Yorkshire! What a fantastic time we had on Thursday morning watching the Tour de Yorkshire! The weather was perfect, and it was such a thrill when the entourage started to appear, followed by the Tour de Yorkshire competitors! This was a brilliant opportunity for us to experience this fantastic race as a school group. Huge thanks to everyone who helped to make this possible – to staff and their partners who made sure everything would run smoothly and our volunteer helpers who accompanied us either on foot, bikes or transport back up. Thank you to everyone for bringing packed lunches too – some children chose to enjoy theirs outdoors in the sunshine, which was a lovely ending to a great morning. It was great to see so many families watching the men’s race pass by later in the day – an amazing local event not to be missed! We even briefly made it on to the television coverage too!
