Dear Parents An exciting start to the week …. A note from Mrs Stewart Tour de Yorkshire Inter County Children’s Relay As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, a group of Year 6 children and myself took part in the Schools Yorkshire Tour Relay. It was a fantastic event and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We welcomed in the children from Boothferry Primary with some fantastic cheering and were then sent on our way with some ‘Good Luck’ messages from our children. It was a lovely atmosphere outside school and nice to see parents of those taking part and local people supporting the event. Our route was mainly based along country lanes with small sections along the main road, which was carefully supervised by all the staff. All the children cycled extremely well – with no problems or complaints of tiredness along the way! On arriving at North Cave Primary, about an hour later, we were welcomed in by the staff and children there. We handed over the baton and the next group of children continued its journey, which ended in York later that day. The children were then presented with a small rucksack (which included a t-shirt and water bottle) to thank them for their efforts and as a memory of the event. We were then returned to school in the support vehicle, feeling very pleased with ourselves – and surprisingly… not too tired!! Although this was a ‘one-off’ event and will contribute to our Modeshift Award, I did ask if it could be something we could look into doing annually with our Year 6 children – a perfect event at this time of year for them! The Road Safety team leading the event were extremely positive about our children and hope this will inspire them to continue cycling. EYFS Open afternoon It was great to see so many new and familiar faces on Thursday, for our open afternoon. This was for parents who may be interested in their child attending our Foundation Stage Unit from September 2017 onwards, either as a three year old or four year old. Many thanks for taking the time to attend and we hope everyone enjoyed meeting staff and looking at the excellent facilities we have. If you or anyone you know couldn’t make Thursday, then there is another open afternoon on Saturday 24th June between 2.00 and 3.30 p.m. We have been asked by the Local Authority to update all parents regarding the situation for our proposal to extend the age range from 3 to 11 years from September 2017. Eastrington Primary School - Proposal to Extend the Age Range At its meeting on 16th May 2017, East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Cabinet approved the publication of proposals to extend the age range of Eastrington Primary School. A notice about the proposal will be published on 23th June 2017. • East Yorkshire Countryside Directory for People with Disabilities
East Yorkshire Countryside Directory for People with Disabilities second edition Whatever your needs, access to and enjoyment of the countryside is rewarding, healthy and great fun. This directory can help you find out what opportunities are available to you in your area. Get yourself outdoors and enjoy all the benefits that come with it… With a foreword by The Hon. Mrs Susan Cunliffe-Lister, HM Lord-Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire This directory was put together by people with a disability for people with a disability, though the places and information included will be useful to anyone. With a wealth of hidden treasures, East Yorkshire is often referred to as ‘Britain’s best kept secret’. Savour its traditions, stately homes, stunning nature reserves and colourful seaside life. East Yorkshire has many claims to fame; did you know, for example, that Britain’s tallest man came from Market Weighton, and that Hull is home to England’s smallest window? For people interested in wildlife and conservation there is much that can be done from home or a local accessible area. Whatever your chosen form of countryside recreation, whether it’s joining a group, doing voluntary work, or getting yourself out into the countryside on your own, we hope you will get as much out of it as we do. There is still some way to go before we have a properly accessible countryside. By contacting Open Country or another of the organisations listed here, you can help to encourage better access for all in the future. Revised March 2015.

Option 1 - Use the new standard methodology to identify the local housing need for the East Riding as the basis for a new Local Plan requirement. Option 2 - As Option 1 but with an uplift to help address affordable housing needs identified in the Strategic Housing Market Assessment. Option 3 - Continue the current Local Plan approach which considers the housing requirement across the Hull Housing Market Area, supporting the development and regeneration of the City of Hull, and managing housing growth in the East Riding.
