Solva marginata (Meigen, 1820) is the most common and frequent representative of Solvidae fam ily in the Central European Region. Bevezetés A család fajait korábban a Stratiomyidae családba sorolták (MAJER 1976, 1985). A részletes vizsgálódások eredményeként (WEBB 1984, KRIVOSHEINA, 1972, 1988, ROZKOSNY 1973) az ide tartozó legyeket, a lényeges anatómiai el térésekre alapozva önálló családdá nyilvánították. így a Stratiomyidae és a Xyloyidae családok együtt a Stratiomyioidea öregcsaládot alkotják. A csalá dokból jelenleg csak egy fajt, a Solva marginata (Meigen, 1820) sikerült orszá gunkban megtalálni. Ez a faj mindenütt gyakori, ahol avarral borított terüle tek (beleértve a parkokat is) vannak. A faj palaearktikus eltérj edésű. A nyári szezonban gyakran megtaláljuk az épületek ablakain is. A kozmopolita faj So mogy megye valamennyi településén nagy valószínűséggel megtalálható. Az előfordulási adatok jelentős része Tóth Sándor eddig még meg nem jelent adatok Somogy megye kétszárnyú (Diptera) faunájához" kéziratából (a szerző volt szíves a dolgozatát nagyvonalúan rendelkezésemre bocsátani) továbbá a Ter mészettudományi Múzeum (Budapest) valamint Majer József légygyűjtemé nye a szerző által határozott, de még eddig nem publikált adataiból származ nak. Ezért még az egyes fajok neve alatt csak a Somogy megyei előfordulási adatokat szolgáltatók neve található, megjelenési évszám nélkül. Abstract Additions, deletions and corrections are made to the Irish checklist of butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera). Elachista biatomella (Stainton, 1848) is added to the Irish list. The total number of confirmed Irish species of Lepidoptera now stands at 1480. Key words: Lepidoptera, additions, deletions, corrections, Irish list, Elachista biatomella Introduction Bond, Nash and O’Connor (2006) provided a checklist of the Irish Lepidoptera. Since its publication, many new discoveries have been made and are reported here. In addition, several deletions have been made. A concise and updated checklist is provided. The following abbreviations are used in the text: BM(NH) – The Natural History Museum, London; NMINH – National Museum of Ireland, Natural History, Dublin. The total number of confirmed Irish species now stands at 1480, an addition of 68 since Bond et al. (2006). Taxonomic arrangement As a result of recent systematic research, it has been necessary to replace the arrangement familiar to British and Irish Lepidopterists by the Fauna Europaea [FE] system used by Karsholt 60 Bulletin of the Irish Biogeographical Society No. 36 (2012) and Razowski, which is widely used in continental Europe. -

Car nets were used to collect two samples on a forest road in Podyji National park, the Braitava forest, Czech Republic. Sampling was done in 2002 between May 31 and June 1, and between July 30 and 31. These consisted of 10 rounds (each 10 km in length) from morning to dusk. Over 3,000 specimens (52 species) of Ceratopogonidae were captured. The results suggest that the car-net method may be efficient in ceratopogonid biomonitoring and e. g. determining their daily flight activity and swarming sites. A. McFadden ^ The Stratiomyidae or soldier flies are represented in America north of Mexico by approximately 237 species distributed through 37 genera. Prior to this study, larvae have been described for only 21 species representmg 15 genera. In addition to the lack of adequate descriptions and keys, classification has seldom been attempted and a phylogenetic treatment of the larvae has never been presented. The present study has been undertaken with several goals in mind: to rear and describe (1) as many species as possible; (2) to redescribe all previously described larvae of North American species; and (3), on the basis of larval characters, to attempt to define various taxo- nomic units and show phylogenetic relationships withm the family and between it and other closely related familes. Any attempt to establish subfamilial and generic lunits must be regarded as tentative. This is especially true in the present study since larvae of so many species of Stratiomyidae remain unknown. Undoubtably, as more species are reared, changes mil have to be made in keys and definitions of taxa. The keys have been prepared chiefly for identification of last mstar larvae.
