Introduction The philosophy of science has been too concerned with the question of how we generate knowledge in the sciences and not concerned enough with the consequences of the fact that we know quite well how to change our material world and our lives by using science. Indeed, science is the ultimate power in the material world because it is the foundation of modem technology, engineering, industries, and the economy of developed nations. Through its creation of knowledge of physical material, the scientific method (Popper 1959) has enabled the implementation of the civilized world, transforming the entirety of human life: housing, clothing, culture, transportation, maneuvers of war, agriculture, and medicine.
