June 27-July 1 (8:00am-Noon) Science Camp I - 5-10 yrs. July 5-8 (8:00-3:00pm) Pickles, Pie, Peace & Me - 7-12 yrs. July 11-14 (8:00am-3:00pm) I Will Survive - 8-12 yrs. July 18-22 (8:00am-Noon) Science Camp II - 7-12 yrs. July 25-29 (8:00am-Noon) Amazing Animals - 5-10 yrs. August 1-5 (8:00am-12:00) Camp Dig - 5-10yrs. There is a $10 non-refundable deposit for each camp. Deposit is included in the camp fee. Prices vary for each camp. Scholarships are available. Through the generosity of the B.A. Seitz Fund and the Cliff Farmer Scholarship Fund, a limited number of scholarships are available for children who wish to attend a camp, but whose families are financially challenged. Saturday, June 4 (9am - 12 or 1pm) “Jesus’ and Gandhi’s Steadfast Vision for a New Kind of World” Living the Sermon on the mount…in Truth at St. Francis Spirituality Center, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. An “Oasis Day” mini-retreat for all who want to help change the world from a world of violence to a world of peace. Doors open at 8:30. Includes prayer, presentation, reflection, and optional sharing. Retreat Leader: Sr. Paulette Schroeder. Cost: $10 for retreat only and $20 for retreat and lunch. Noon meal is optional. To register, contact Sister Jane Omlor at 567-207-5393. Sunday, June 12 (2:00-4:00pm) Straw Bale House Tour behind the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center located at 194 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. Tours are held on the 2nd Sunday of the month at Little Portion Green. You can also enjoy a home cooked brunch using local foods at Little Portion Green for a free will donation on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Reservations for brunch and a tour at the Straw Bale House are available by calling Sr. Jane at 567-207-5393. June 24 (5:00pm) – July 1 (after noon meal) “Praying with Laudato Si” Guided Week-Long Retreat at St. Francis Spirituality Center, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. Fr. Vince Peterson, OFM, Conv., director. This retreat will explore the rich spiritual themes of Pope Francis’ recent encyclical on creation, climate change, and our call to care for one another and our planet. One conference per day, including prayer/ritual and optional opportunity for individual direction session. Fr. Vincent Petersen is stationed at of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in the areas of liturgy, the arts and the natural environment. Growing up in rural Minnesota helped to ground his spirituality and love for the natural world. He is also an environmental painter and uses his art for the cause of the Gospel. When Sisters of St. Francis of Tiffin and area golfers are working together to help kids learn about and appreciate the environment—it’s a win-win! The 2016 LPGA Tour is partnering to help kids; thru the Marathon Classic which will be hosted at Highland Meadows July 11-17th in Sylvania. The Marathon Classic presented by Owens Corning & O-I announced that 9 of the top 10 LPGA players in the world are committed to play in this year’s tournament. The #1 player in the world and 2014 Marathon Classic champion, Lydia Ko, is among the players coming here this year. Inbee Park, #2 in the Rolex World Rankings and Toledo native Stacy Lewis, who is ranked #4, are also committed to play in this year’s LPGA tournament. Purchase tickets for the Marathon Classic and designate “Franciscan Earth Literacy Center”, a sponsored youth mission of the Sisters of St. Francis of Tiffin, as the charity to receive 100% of your ticket price as a donation. You may also wish to choose other youth charities. The center is a hands-on environmental education and demonstration center providing year-round classes, field trips, and camps that promote nature appreciation and encourage sustainable living practices. Located on the St. Francis Community Campus, in Tiffin, we serve Northwest Ohio students of all abilities. To date, the Marathon Classic has raised over $9.2 million for 152 northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan children’s charities. This year’s tournament will benefit 20 designated children’s charities in the area, including the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center. Consider purchasing a ticket to this year’s event. Tickets are available for the Summer Harvest Gourmet Gala on Friday, August 12 from 6:00-9:30pm on the beautiful grounds of the St. Francis Campus in Tiffin. Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres prepared by the Canticle Café, followed by a gourmet dinner prepared by Carolyn's Personalized Catering of Millbury, Ohio, musical entertainment by Straight from the Harp, participating in a wine grab, raffle drawings, silent auction and live auction conducted by local Auctioneer Clayton Neal and sampling of Ohio wines and hand selected micro brew beers. Cost: $75/ per person or $520 for a table of 8. Deadline for all reservations is Friday, August 5. Reservations are required.
