Parramatta Light Rail Client Great River City Light Rail Date 2019 - current Value $2.4 billion (total project) Description Parramatta Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via Parramatta and Camellia with a two-way track spanning 12 kilometres with completion scheduled in 2023. It will connect Parramatta’s CBD to the key areas being transformed by the NSW Government and private investment, including the Westmead Precinct, the Parramatta North Growth Centre, the Camellia Town Centre, the Telopea Precinct, and Western Sydney University campuses at Westmead, Rydalmere and Parramatta CBD. Parramatta Light Rail will reduce travel times and improve the quality of life for thousands of people who commute in and out of, and around, Parramatta every day. Scope of Work The Great River City Light Rail Consortium comprising Transdev Australasia and Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) was successfully awarded the Supply, Operate, and Maintain (SOM) contract. Great River City Light Rail will be responsible for supplying the light rail vehicles, design and construction of the stabling and maintenance facility, light rail systems and other associated works and operating and maintaining the light rail for a minimum of eight years after project completion.
