Esteve, Manel - Baritone Biography Born in Barcelona he studied music and singing at the Municipal Conservatory as well as with his father, the baritone Vicenç Esteve. He has also received teachings from renowned artists as Joan Pons, Jaume Aragall, Bonaldo Giaiotti, Eduard Giménez, Carlos Chausson or Rolando Panerai. Recent engagements include Schaunard (La Bohème) at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Lescaut (Manon) at Bilbao- ABAO, Ping (Turandot) at the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas, Prodoscimo (Il turco in Italia) with Ópera Oviedo, Taddeo (L’italiana in Algeri) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona or Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) with Amics de l’Opera de Sabadell. Future projects will bring him to the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo as Juan Nogales in Luisa Fernanda, Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Sonora (La fanciulla del West) in Bilbao or Silvio (I Pagliacci) and Dancaire (Carmen) at the Liceu in Barcelona. Esteve has worked with renowned conductors and stage directors such as Renato Palumbo, Víctor Pablo Pérez, Sebastian Weigle, Josep Pons, Paolo Carignani, Fabrizio Maria Carminati, Stefano Ranzani, Michele Mariotti, Michael Boder, Patrick Davin, Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez, Josep Caballé, Ivor Bolton, Giampaolo Bisanti, José Miguel Pérez Sierra, Alain Guingal, Emilio Sagi, Terry Gilliam, Giancarlo del Monaco, Laurent Pelly, Sergio Renán, Joan Font (Comediants), Alfonso Romero, Joan Antón Rechi, Sonja Frisell, John Copley, Peter Konwitscny, Olivier Py, Arnaud Bernard, Deborah Warner, David Mc Vicar or Richard Jones. After winning the relevant Spanish competitions “Pedro Lavirgen” and “Manuel Ausensi” he made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona with the role of Uberto in La serva padrona in 1999 starting a career that will soon place him in the most relevant seasons and festivals of the Spanish musical scene – Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Palau de la Música Catalana, ABAO, Teatro de la Maestranza, Ópera de Oviedo, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, ACO, Òpera Menorca, AAOS, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, Teatre Principal de Mallorca, Teatro calderón, Teatro Arriaga, Quincena musical de S.
