After my aborted first run because it would- n’t even run under load, I moved the car out of the shop to try to figure out what to do next. On a sug- gestion from Greg (or was it Bobert?) we pushed the car under a tree to get some shade. After find- ing out the accelerator pump jets were waaaay too big, and not having any others, Rick Knapp “modified” them by squeezing the holes smaller with a pair of pliers. High tech, huh? Who needs a shop and thousands of dollars worth of tools and parts when there’s a tall tree around and you have a screwdriver and a pair of pliers! They work so well that I’m not even going to bother getting any others that have actual sized holes. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it <grin>! By the way, thanks again Rick, Scott, and Doug for getting the Vee running right! I’m having fun - are you? 2002 Annual Tech Contacts Racers, start your engines! We had some technical problems which had us and 30th. This will be my first divisional and I can’t wait. With starting a little late, but I don’t think anybody had a problem a little luck, maybe next year we can have it back here in with that since it wasn’t raining. Salina hosted a Solo on the Wichita. The next local Solo is July 28th at Boeing, then shortly 23rd, which saw quite a few Wichita drivers attending. They set after is August 11th, also at Boeing.
