We wish to express gratitude to everybody who generously contributed to the success of this event. First, we are grateful to Alessandro Gavazza, for setting up a scientific programme of excellent quality. Second, we are grateful to the members of the scientific committee who helped Alessandro in his demanding job of selecting the very best papers for this event. Nova School of Business and Economics is the most prestigious Portuguese school in the areas of Economics and Management. It is a triple crown-accredited school with three Masters programs and Executive Education programs in the FT rankings, and classified as a Universal Business School (5 Palmes) with 11 Masters among the best in the Eduniversal rankings. Nova SBE is also a member of the prestigious CEMS network having won twice the title of CEMS School of the year (2010, 2011). Since its establishment in 1976, it has been a pioneer in Portugal in several areas, being the first to offer a full- time MBA program (1982), the first to start teaching in English and the first to be internationally accredited (EQUIS 2004). Nova School of Business and Economics has stepped up its activity at the international level, not only as an institution but also in terms of its program portfolio. Programme changes General announcements, last-minute changes and updates to the programme will be displayed on the message board next to the registration desk. Badges Your name badge signals your admission to the conference, please make sure you wear it at all times, also during social events. Conference assistants In the conference venue there are conference assistants which will help you find your way around and with problems in conference rooms. Catering Lunches and coffee breaks are held in the tents behind Nova SBE. Conference Rooms All rooms are equipped with a PC with USB ports, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, projector, and a screen. Campus Access The main entrance to the campus will be closed for cars on Sunday, but there is a secondary access on Travessa Estêvão Pinto. Internet connection at the Conference venue In the conference venue, you will be able to access the Internet via WiFi. WIFI: All users who have access to the Eduroam wireless network should preferably use their own accounts. Registration fee The registration fee includes EARIE Membership, admission to all scientific sessions, conference materials (congress bag, badge, programme, etc.), certificate of participation, coffee breaks and luncheons, admission to welcome cocktail and conference dinner. EARIE 2016 | 43rd Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics 7 SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE The Scientific Committee for EARIE 2016 is chaired by Alessandro Gavazza (London School of Economics). He is a co-editor of the Journal of Industrial Economics and a research fellow of the CEPR. His research focuses on the role of frictions in markets. He has also studied the role of information in elections, and the interactions between labor and healthcare markets. His research has been published in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Political Economy, and the Review of Economic Studies.
