The Sugar Bears were 12-4 in league Stephen F. Austin 11-5 24-13 play and finished second overall. Fifth-year head coach Steven McNeese State 5-11 17-13 McRoberts returns nine experienced players from last year’s squad. Southeastern Louisiana 5-11 9-19 Northwestern State 2-14 3-21 Setter West Division Senior Robyn Smith (5-9, Lubbock, Texas) is a two-time All-Southland Conference Texas State 13-3 22-13 selection and the 2008 SLC Setter of the Year. Smith holds the UCA career mark with Sam Houston State 12-4 20-14 11.63 assists per set and 4,014 assists. She is also a two-time SLC All-Academic selection. Lamar 9-7 15-14 Backing Smith up is redshirt freshman Lauren Dear (5-8, Conway, Ark.) who gained UT Arlington 8-8 12-17 experience running UCA’s scout team last season. UTSA 7-9 12-19 Middle Blocker/Right Side A&M-Corpus Christi 2-14 9-22 Last year’s Southland Conference Player of the Year and Student-Athlete of the Year Chloe Smith (6-3, San Diego, Calif.) is hoping to repeat last year’s success as a junior. The right side hitter recorded a .323 hitting CSTV/AVCA Top 25 Poll percentage, ranking fifth in the league. She was also third in the SLC with 3.35 kills per set and second with December 22, 2009 0.43 aces. Smith was invited to try out for the U.S. National Team in February. Together with its development and spreading its importance grows as well. However previously conducted research on floorball from its managerial point of view is rare, especially on an international scale. The present investigation makes an attempt to fill this gap in a holistic manner. It explores the research problem of finding the potentials of floorball as a sustainably successful sport – worldwide and in the case country, Bulgaria. For this purpose the study utilizes the tasks of collecting and systematizing existing relevant data, binding floorball to theoretical frameworks of contemporary science and observing its development level and current issues globally and locally. The research uses a qualitative, ethnographic approach to obtain its goals, and includes participant observation, unstructured and semi-structured interviews. Data is analysed through a combination of qualitative analysis tools – thematic analysis, discourse analysis, content analysis, visual data analysis, etc. The primary data has been gathered in Finland, as well as in Bulgaria and consists of observation of key events and interaction with key informants.

    NOTICE OF INTEREST/BIDDING FOR FUTURE INTERNATIONAL CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS ARENAS FOR GREAT EVENTS ÖSTERSUND ARENA STAAREN SAVKA Östersund Curling Club, supported by the Swedish Curling Association and Östersund Municipality, hereby shows interest in hosting following international Curling Championships: • 2017, Le Gruyere European Championships A- and B-group (November) • 2020, World Mixed Double Curling Championships and World Senior Curling Championships (April/May) • 2022, World Men’s Curling Championships (April) After hosting three successful World Junior Curling Champions- AFTER hips (1998, 2008 and 2012), Östersund Curling Club (ÖCK) has decided to apply for hosting even more international competi- THREE SUCCESS- tions. Since December 2013 a state-of-the-art arena with two ice tracks, an outdoor bandy field and a gymnastics hall, is available FUL WJCC's for larger events. To examine the possibility of hosting international curling events in Östersund, ÖCK conducted a thorough pre-study during the autumn of 2014. The eight-page report investigated var- ious conditions, such as: • the stadium’s suitability • the opportunities for transportation and lodging • the support from the municipality • the support from the Swedish Curling Association • the anchoring of the commercial busi- ness network and tourism industry. The desire to set up future championships was also investigated among ÖCK’s members, other curlers and additional volunteers. THE RESULT OF THE STUDY IS CLEAR Östersund is prepared for other larger curling championships.
