My cases might be trivial but these matters of seemingly little importance may trouble us in our interpersonal relationship and keep us away from peace in our daily life. The views in this book regarding the very broad and complex topic of forgiveness were cultivated from my experience, research and dialogues with many teachers from various disciplines. Here I shall summarise some of the Catholic teachings on Salvation and forgiveness as I understand them, and share my experience of being both an offender and the one being offended. In addition, there will be true stories from victims of assault and murder cases. Somehow my hurts have been healed, by Christ, through His faithful priests and followers. I hope that by sharing my experience we may all travel further down the road to see God’s love and forgiveness, live in peace and be merciful to others.

The crowd, which the congregation enacts in the passion reading this weekend, also lacks courage. They fall into a phenomenon called groupthink where individuals seek conformity with the group even if the group is wrong or is expressing an opinion contrary to Jesus' entry to Jerusalem. Conder's note on this subject (Quarterly Statement, Jan., 1878, p. 46): "During our seventeen years' residence in Palestine I had many opportunities of seeing roses growing in the Holy Land, both cultivated and wild. I have a wild dog-rose gathered in Lebanon. I saw another growing and in blossom on the roadside between Nablfts and Jerusalem. Roses have been also cultivated in Palestine for a very long period, and they hrive well. The Hebrew word may well mean the Rose.

CHRIST IS RISEN!!! HAPPY EASTER!!! We gather together this weekend as people of the Resurrection to celebrate in Word and Eucharist our Risen Savior, Jesus the Christ, who conquered sin and death by dying and rising for us. Last weekend, Palm Sunday, we were very pleased to see such a large attendance. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard in many varied ways, all of our Ushers, Readers and Extraordinary Ministers. Our Liturgies for this past Holy Week have been joyful and beautiful celebrations of God’s love for us. It’s always lovely to have Fr. Hubert back at St. Rose. We enjoyed having him preside and preach at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. Fr. Matthew presided on Good Friday. Deacon Michal has been a busy bee serving as Master of Ceremonies for our liturgies and as always, working to ensure everything is running smoothly. Kamil is enjoying his first Triduum and Holy Week in America and has been a great help and support during these busy days. During these special days we keep Deacon Andrew and Alex in prayer. Deacon Andrew is taking a little break this week and is looking forward to his Ordination in July. Alex is in the Holy Land visiting the holy places and shrines with some friends. I know Alex misses being a part of the Holy Week and Easter celebrations here and we certainly miss him.
