oups work ity Gr ing to un get m better Clay Cr he om for a oss r C

The Community Groups Network was launched in August 2002 and has met seven times between then and June 2003. It aims to support community groups in the greater Clay Cross area as well as encouraging groups to get more involved in the wider community. Community Group Network Members have the opportunity to attend a range of events, which in the past year have included: ● A range of one and a half-hour evening workshops on topics like: recruiting volunteers, fund raising and organising community events. ● Networking meetings to find out what other groups in the area are doing. ● Speakers who provide information on services available to local groups such as Community Transport, the Volunteer Centre in Chesterfield and the Clay Cross Grants Fund. ● A Christmas Networking Event to find out what other regeneration work is taking place in Clay Cross. Meetings are held in the evenings, on a variety of different days through the week. Membership and all events are currently FREE OF CHARGE and a warm welcome is extended to anyone who is a member of a group in the local area and would like to join. For more details, including the date of the next meeting, please contact the Clay Cross Area Community Regeneration Project on 01246 860800 or Rev’d Matthew Barnes on 250110.
