The Birth of the Cyclone – Tauktae

- 14th May,2021 – After we got the news of a depression and cyclone formation, our Ground station was rebuilt in Mumbai for weather satellite reception & Tracking of the Storm. - On 15th May,2021 – Morning – After resolving few technical issues we received the first glimpse of Cyclone formation in brushing over the west coast of India - NOAA 15 Satellite Image

The of the Cyclone Tauktae

- 16th May,2021 – The cyclone had taken its shape & had attained the level of extremely critical cyclone. - The eye of cyclone was clearly visible. Thermal scanning showed cloud temperature of –(Minus)100 Degree Celsius. - NOAA 15 Satellite Image

- The Thermal Imaging Shows clearly that the Eye of Cyclone is hotter then the ring of Cyclone. - Many other Meteorological Information of cyclone can be gathered through it. - Upon Discussion with Meteorologist Mr. Nayan Talmale, we realized that in the ring of cyclone along with lots of thunder and lightening, water exists in all three phase (Solid, Liquid and Gas).

The Land-Fall of Cyclone Tauktae

- 17th May,2021 – The cyclone was brushing off Mumbai coast resulting in heavy rain and thunderstorm all over Mumbai. Our ground station was down under these circumstances. - 18th May,2021 – The Cyclone had its landfall near Nagar-haveli, . One of the best weather mapping satellite Meteor M2 which we could receive was to pass right over the cyclone at landfall. - Meteor-M2 Satellite Image (High Resolution Image)
