NEW RELEASE for the week of January 22, 2021 PRIORITIES & HIGHLIGHTS >> Pre-Order Now!

ANTLERS "Green To Gold" (ANTI) 87800 LP/ CD ANTLERS "Green To Gold (indie (ANTI) 87800INDIE LP shop version/tan)" March 26 street date. "Green To Gold" is the much-anticipated new from based Indie/Folk band The Antlers. Perhaps what distinguishes "Green To Gold" from the rest of The Antlers' canon is its, well, sunniness. Conceived and written almost entirely in the morning hours, "Green To Gold" is the band's first new music in nearly seven years, and easily their most luminous to date. The brighter outlook emerged, paradoxically, after a succession of ominous events. In 2015, Silberman suffered with an auditory condition that made touring near impossible and he retreated to the quiet of upstate New York to heal. His return in 2017 with a solo album was short lived when he was diagnosed with lesions on his vocal chords, which required surgery and again a quiet rest and recovery period. Singer and primary Peter Silberman explains. "I took these health obstacles as a sign that I should change course for a little while. I hadn't made a full stop like that since The Antlers began. I think the shift in tone is the result of getting older. It doesn't make sense for me to try to tap into the same energy that I did ten or fifteen years ago, because I continue to grow as a person, as I'm sure our audience does too. "Green To Gold" is about this idea of gradual change". "Bad Brains" (ORG MUSIC) ORGM2179 CD/ LP/ CASS April 23 street date. "Bad Brains" is the self-titled debut studio album recorded by American / band Bad Brains. Recorded in 1981 and released on (then) cassette-only label ROIR on February 5, 1982, many fans refer to it as "The Yellow Tape" because of its yellow packaging. Though Bad Brains had recorded the 16 song "Black Dots" album in 1979 and the 5-song "Omega Sessions" EP in 1980, the ROIR cassette was the band's first release of anything longer than a single. This reissue marks the second release in the remaster campaign, re- launching the Bad Brains Records label imprint. In coordination with the band, Org Music has overseen the restoration and remastering of the iconic Bad Brains' recordings. The audio was mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing. BURIAL "Chemz/Dolphinz" (HYPERDUB) HDB134 12"EP April 2 street date. ‘Chemz’ is hooky, rushy and loved-up - both an unhinged premonition of unleashed post- pandemic joy, and a demonic flashback to past ecstasies in a hardcore style perfected in the UK. ‘Chemz’ is a 12 minute rave monster that has ingested several tracks and incorporated them into its distended body. At the other end of the Burial bi-polar spectrum, ‘Dolphinz’ is a desolate oceanic love letter to our underwater friends. CARIBOU "Suddenly Remixes EP" (MERGE) MRG758 12"EP March 5 street date. Songs from Caribou's "Suddenly" remixed by four exciting new artists. Dan Snaith says: "the best thing about remixes is getting to hear producers whose music I love rework my music. Shanti Celeste, Jordan, Kareem Ali, and Logic1000" - I've been super excited by all of their music recently, and I feel really lucky that they were up for creating these beautiful remixes". Limited to 300 copies in North America. CITIZEN "Life In Your Glass World” (RUN FOR RFC212 CD CITIZEN "Life In Your Glass World (RUN FOR RFC212LPC4 LP (galaxy blue and green swirl)" March 26 street date. Citizen have always eluded definition. The Toledo, Ohio-based four-piece have been making dynamic, wide-ranging guitar music for over ten years, challenging expectations with each new album and refusing to fit neatly in a box. On their fourth full-length, "Life In Your Glass World", Citizen have crafted their most singular work to date completely on their own terms - proving that only the band themselves can define their identity. Recorded in vocalist Mat Kerekes' home studio in his garage, Citizen's need to continue moving forward creatively went hand in hand with their desire to be fully in control of their creative destiny. The new process afforded the band time to focus on each song's individual mood, making their sig-nature blend of aggression and melody all the more pronounced, and even capturing appealing imperfections. The result is an album that represents the members' vision in its purest form, something that feels distinctly Citizen while also marking the start of a fresh chapter. DEAD DAISIES "Holy Ground (2LP)" (SPV) SPV243401 LP DEAD DAISIES "Holy Ground" (SPV) SPV243402 CD Available now. have started their next chapter, welcoming new band member . Followers can expect more High-Voltage Rock songs, indomitable grooves and spellbinding lyrics, all the ingredients that have made this music so timeless, out-living trends of the modern day. The sound of The Dead Daisies is entrenched in the Hard Rock way of life we all love but as a living, breathing rock band, they are constantly evolving and bringing new dynamics to a classic style. FRUIT BATS "The Pet Parade" (MERGE) MRG750 LP/ CD FRUIT BATS "The Pet Parade (Peak (MERGE) MRG750PEAK LP Vinyl indie version/colour)" March 5 street date. "The Pet Parade", the title track to Fruit Bats' newest album, might be a surprising opening track for longtime fans of Eric D. Johnson's beloved indie folk-rock project. The six-and-a-half-minute tone poem smolders and drones over just two chords, inspired by the strange and silly community events that he saw growing up outside of Chicago, in La Grange, Illinois, in which people dressed up and showed off their pets. Decades later, "The Pet Parade" emerges in troubled times, living within what Johnson refers to as the beauty and absurdity of existence. While many of the songs on "The Pet Parade" were actually written before the pandemic, it's impossible to disassociate the record from the times. As an example, producer Josh Kaufman (Bob Weir, The National, and Bonny Light Horseman, in which he plays with Johnson and Anaïs Mitchell) was brought in for his deep emotional touch and bandleading abilities. At times upbeat and reassuring and at times quietly contemplative, "The Pet Parade" marks a milestone for Johnson, who celebrates 20 years of Fruit Bats in 2021. GLENN-COPELAND, "Keyboard Fantasies" (TRANSGRESSI TRANS460CD CD BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND, "Keyboard Fantasies" (TRANSGRESSI TRANS460MC CASS BEVERLY GLENN-COPELAND, "Keyboard Fantasies" (TRANSGRESSI TRANS460X LP BEVERLY April 9 street date. Reissue of Beverly Glenn-Copeland's 2020 Polaris Heritage Prize winning album! In 1970, nine years after leaving the United States to study music in Canada, Beverly Glenn-Copeland released two self-titled . Both were a stunning showcase of classical and jazz acumen, layered with poetry and accompanied by some of the best players of the time. Original pressings now fetch thousands of dollars. Glenn-Copeland then vanished as a recording artist until his re-emergence in 1986 with the release (just a few hundred copies on cassette) of what many now believe to be his masterpiece, "Keyboard Fantasies". Marking its 35th anniversary, Transgressive reissues "Keyboard Fantasies" with updated artwork and liner notes by pop star, Robyn.

ADULT MOM "Driver" (EPITAPH) 87808 CD March 5 street date. Adult Mom began as the solo project of Stevie Knipe in a Purchase College dorm room in 2012, and now falls between the playful spectrum of solo project and collaborative band with beloved friends and musicians Olivia Battell and Allegra Eidinger. On "Driver", Adult Mom's third studio release, Knipe delves into the emotional space just beyond a coming-of-age, where the bills start to pile up and memories of college dorms are closer than those of high school parking lots. Like so many other twenty-somethings, the album seeks to answer the age old question: what now? With an actualized sound, Adult Mom has arrived to soundtrack the queer rom- com they've been dreaming of since 2015. Driver incorporates an expert weaving of sonic textures ranging from synths and shakers to '00s-inspired guitar tones which convey a loving attention to detail. ANOHNI "I Will Survive" (SECRETLY SC433 7" March 12 street date. Anohni has shared an emotive cover of Gloria Gaynor's 1978 classic 'I WIll Survive'. The track was a staple of her early live shows and opens with a graceful string arrangement by Maxim Moston, paired with piano performed by Anohni. The flip side is 'R.N.C 2020', a track inspired by the Republican National Convention which took place in August and the dread Anohni felt while watching it.

BALTHAZAR "Sand" (PIAS AMERICA) PIASR1200CDX CD BALTHAZAR "Sand" (PIAS AMERICA) PIASR1200LP LP BALTHAZAR "Sand (indie exclusive/yellow)”(PIAS AMERICA) PIASR1200LPX LP February 26 street date. Led by Jinte Deprez and Maarten Devoldere who unite both on writing duties and as frontmen, Balthazar continue to satisfy their thirst for the less rigid parameters that resulted whilst working on 2018's "Fever". Refining their approach to writing, the subsequent recording and following their own solo excursions Jinte, under the nom de plume J. Bernardt with his R&B infused Running Days and Maaarten with the louche, torch song influenced Warhaus - the fluidity and uninhibited process provided an alternative and altogether less restrictive blueprint. One that was undoubtedly aided by their own solo projects. It follows then that "Sand", a soulful alt-pop embrace albeit less encumbered from the melancholic shackles of the past, pursues this newfound road whilst providing the two writers and the band with their most cohesive album to date. EATER "Outside View" (MUNSTER) MR7330 7" March 12 street date. 1977 Debut single by this band of school kids, with an average age of 16, from London that made the Sex Pistols look like old men. They formed in November 1976 with an average age of 16 from Finchley, London and named themselves from a T Rex line "Tyrannosaurus Rex - eater of cars". They got much publicity from Dee Generate who was aged 14 joining the band to replace the original drummer. An early three-chord punk double sider reissued here for the first time. “One night we'd be driven around London with the Clash gate crashing posh music biz parties, meeting our pop star heroes while discussing punk's relevance, taking speed and 'getting off' with girls, many (and in some cases many, many) years older than ourselves. The next morning we'd be back at school, throwing paper aeroplanes at teacher. It was a brilliant double life." Andy Blade, From 'Vacant' (Thames & Hudson 1999). GOAT "Requiem (red flame vinyl)” (ROCKET LAUNCH220 LP February 26 street date. Red flame vinyl repress. Goat's only outright declaration for "Requiem" is that it is their "folk" album, and the album is focused more on their subdued bucolic ritualism than psilocybin freakouts. But Goat hasn't completely foregone their fiery charms - tracks like "All-Seeing Eye" and "Goatfuzz" conjure the sultry heathen pulsations that ensnared us on their previous albums. Perhaps the most puzzling aspect of "Requiem" comes with the closing track "Ubuntu". The song is little more than a melodic delay-driven electric piano line, until we hear the refrain from "Diarabi", the first song on their first album - sneak into the mix. It creates a kind of musical ouroboros - an infinite cycle of reflection and rejuvenation, death and rebirth. ICON FOR HIRE "Amorphous" (ICON FOR ICON006CD CD ICON FOR HIRE "Amorphous" (ICON FOR ICON006LP LP ICON FOR HIRE "Amorphous (indie exclusive/violet)” (ICON FOR ICON006LPI LP February 26 street date. Indie exclusive violet vinyl with limited edition sticker pack. Since forming in 2007, Icon For Hire (composed of singer Ariel Bloomer and guitarist Shawn Jump) have quietly amassed a legion of followers. Currently sitting at over half a million monthly listeners on Spotify, Icon For Hire are the sleeping giants of the modern rock scene, and are now ready to step into the forefront with new album ‘Amorphous’. Icon For Hire's sound is one that effortlessly blends heavy riffs, elements of electronic production and soaring vocal lines into a powerful and bold sonic explosion. However, at the heart of their music is a message of positivity, self-love and personal empowerment from the painfully relatable and rousing lyrics of Ariel. "Demolicion" (MUNSTER) MR7328 7" March 12 street date. Los Saicos created a raw, wild and visceral sound, the Southern Hemisphere equivalent of the that was coming out of the US and their anthem 'Demolición' is one of the most insane '60s punk songs of all time. Unavailable on a 45 for over a decade, here it is again! “Primitive to the point of primordial, Los Saicos are an important benchmark. Not were. Who ever thought there could be a combo out there in Peru that would make sound like Simon and bloody Garfunkel? There is quite possibly some other music out there, someplace, that could well make us re-address this consideration, but until then, cherish this short course of Saicotherapy.” LOST HORIZONS "In Quiet Moments" (BELLA UNION) BELLA1111CD CD LOST HORIZONS "In Quiet Moments (2LP)” (BELLA UNION) BELLA1111V LP LOST HORIZONS "In Quiet Moments (2LP (BELLA UNION) BELLA1111VX LP deluxe edition/coloured vinyl)" February 26 street date. Lost Horizons is a collaboration between Simon Raymonde, former bassist of the Cocteau Twins, and drummer Richard Thomas, whose past resume includes Dif Juz and the Jesus and Mary Chain. Their haunting, low-key indie pop combines elements of dance-rock and Bowie-esque singer songwriter folk. "In Quiet Moments" features a distinguished cast of guest singers and a handful of supporting instrumentalists embellishing the core duo's gorgeously free-flowing and loose-limbed blueprint. While the album has its pockets of loss, they are aligned to the concept of hope, and the end result is more about rebirth than death. MAXIMO PARK "Nature Always Wins" (PROLIFICA) PROINC13CD CD MAXIMO PARK "Nature Always Wins" (PROLIFICA) PROINC13V LP MAXIMO PARK "Nature Always Wins (PROLIFICA) PROINC13VS LP (2LP deluxe edition)" February 26 street date. An album of our times, Newcastle band Maximo Park return with their seventh record "Nature Always Wins". The album arrives as something of an examination, zeroing in on the notion of the self, identity as a band, and that of humanity as a whole. The album's title nods to the famous Nature vs Nurture debate. Discussing whether change is capable under the influence of time, perspective, environment or if we are destined to be bound by our own genetics, it asks, "who are we, and who do we want to be, and do we have any control over it?". Produced by Atlanta-based Grammy-winning producer Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter), who afforded the band freedom to play and create. What wasn't anticipated was how that freedom would be soon be stripped, as lockdown restrictions left the band recording remotely across Newcastle, Liverpool and Atlanta with audio files bounced back and forth, 4000 miles across the world! Deluxe double vinyl edition includes a poster. MEN I TRUST "s/t (picture disc)" (RETURN TO RTA015LP LP Available now. 10th pressing, now as a picture disc! REIGNING SOUND "A Little More (MERGE) MRG761 7" Time/Lonely Ghost" March 5 street date. Reigning Sound's single "A Little More Time" b/w "Lonely Ghost" marks the first new music from the group in nearly seven years! The A-side is another welcome pint of garage rock and Memphis soul from Reigning Sound chief brewmaster Greg Cartwright, and it serves double duty as the lead single from the band's forthcoming full-length "A Little More Time with Reigning Sound". While the sprightly and rollicking B-side "Lonely Ghost" was recorded during the album sessions in Memphis, Cartwright and co. felt the track was best heard at 45 RPM. STIMULATORS "Loud Fast Rules!" (MUNSTER) MR7329 7" March 12 street date. This self-released single recorded in 1979, remains the true document of what was so exciting about those years between the original CBGB-era to the early days of hardcore. All three songs remain jaw- dropping. The single comes housed in a gatefold sleeve that features an iconic 1980 photo by Robert Mapplethorpe and includes liner notes by Henry Rollins. “These songs walked the perfect line between and pop”. - Henry Rollins

Bisbâyé translates as "what happens when there is nothing else one can do, when uncertainty and obstacles require excelling oneself" and was founded in 2001 by guitarist and main composer Jean-Pierre Larouche. Bisbâyé may be most notable for including two guitarists and two drum kits, with the two guitarists answering each other's riffs and the two percussionists answering each other's beats in real time, and the bassist being the musical fulcrum. This polyrhythmic superposition creates a compelling stereo effect (best experienced with headphones on). RIYL: Don Caballero, Meshuggah, King Crimson, Steve Reich, Gyorgy Ligeti. With their sixth full-length, "Über den Sternen", an allegorical German rendering of their band name meaning "Above the Stars", Empyrium still draw from the magic and spirits of wild places, nature's beauty, and human relics of ages long past. "Über den Sternen" echoes this reconciliation of the old with the new on a musical level as well. The Franconian duo is putting more emphasis on the electric guitars and harsh vocals again, which marked their first two albums and stood strong upon the band's melodic black metal foundations. Yet Empyrium also revisit the dark folk style, which the Germans had progressively embraced on their third and fourth albums. What used to appear to be a crossroad in their musical development has now merged into one breath-taking sound. EMPYRIUM "Über den Sternen (PROPHECY) PRO304BOX BOX (2LP+CD+7-inch box)" February 26 street date. LAKE OF TEARS "Ominous (black vinyl)" (AFM) AFM4961 LP LAKE OF TEARS "Ominous (indie exclusive)”(AFM) AFM49611 LP LAKE OF TEARS "Ominous" (AFM) AFM4962 CD February 19 street date. For ten years the fans of Lake Of Tears have awaited a new album. "Onimous" envelops the listener with comforting loneliness in the band's usual gruesome-dark manner. The perfect soundtrack for short, grey days and long, cold, dark nights. After nearly a decade of silence, Daniel Brennare, head and heart of the Swedish pioneers of dark music, finally reveals his sinister world of thought. PHILM "Time Burner" (METALVILLE) MV0270 CD February 19 street date. After two critically acclaimed studio albums, 2012's "Harmonic" and its follow-up "Fire From the Evening Sun" (2014), Los Angeles experimental rockers Philm return with their third album. "Time Burner" is the band's most musically daring and mature release to date. After the departure of drummer Dave Lombardo, it was nevertheless clear for singer/guitarist/pianist Gerry Nestler and bassist Pancho Tomaselli to continue. In Lombardo's place, Nestler and Tomaselli teamed up with Venezuelan-born, Grammy Award-winning drummer Anderson Quintero for the "Time Burner" sessions. Before, there were always certain restrictions, stylistic limits. With the work on "Time Burner" one could for the first time freely develop in all directions. It was the kind of "anything goes" approach that made for a more dynamic result. "Time Burner" offers an extravagant musical variety. Black Sabbath-like heaviness ('Steamroller') meets Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd psychedelic ('Spanish Flowers'), bluesy stoner vibes ('1942') and swashbuckling funk ('Wonka Vision'), combined with a hefty helping of hardcore.

"Die Happy" was originally released in 1976 and was the only release on S.B. Moon Records. The record has a crossover vibe as it sits beautifully between modern soul, funk, and proto-. Initial research didn't shed much light onto the background of the song. The trail was sparse, other than the record appearing on the sales list of rare-soul collectors and record dealers. So Mr Bongo decided to go back to the source and find out about the record directly from Joe Quarterman himself, who was involved in the recording. Following the recently released and highly praised Trees 50th anniversary box set on Earth Recordings, Trees reissue their second album as a standalone release. A beautiful hybrid, Trees found a unique space between intimate folk and freewheeling psychedelia. Musically ambitious yet brilliantly balanced, they have left an enduring legacy for those lucky enough to be in on the secret. Released just months after their debut second album, ‘On The Shore’ sees a shift from the first record into something darker and more ambivalent with an arcane Englishness. The product of an era characterised by clunky polemic, arcadian sentimentality or English fuzzy-felt surrealism, the album, like all classic records, is so much greater than the sum of its parts. Trees first album, ‘The Garden of Jane Delawney’ (1970) snuggles nicely into contemporary nu-folkies' idea of the genre, and shares some of the pastoral-whimsy that characterised The Incredible String Band or Donovan, offset by some stunning interpretations of traditional material and Bias Boshell's own songs. CAIXA CUBO "Angela" (HEAVENLY) HVNLP185 LP March 12 street date. Caixa Cubo are one of the most highly-regarded modern Brazilian jazz trios. Recipients of scholarships from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, , in recent years, they have split their time between Brazil and Europe. Angela was recorded in December 2018 and includes arrangements of songs like "Baião Malandro" by Egberto Gismonti and "Dark Prince" by Geri Allen, in addition to the group's original compositions. The Trio of Henrique Gomide (keys), João Fideles (drums), Noa Stroeter (bass) are joined by singer Zé Leônidas on "Palavras". JULIAN Y SU COMBO "A Buenaventura con (VAMPI SOUL) VAMPI229 LP SABOR Julian y su Combo Sabor (180g)" March 12 street date. During a 20-year period Julián Y Su Combo released 8 LPs on almost as many different companies and “A Buenaventura” was their only record with Medellín-based label Indústria Fonográfica Metrópoli (later reissued by INS on their Fabuloso imprint as “Descarga Salsa Y Boogaloo”). Julián Angulo described the combo’s sound as afroantillano, combining Cuban, New Y ork Latin, and Puerto Rican elements with Colombia’s own tropical costeño traditions. “A Buenaventura” is surely one of Julian y su Combo’s best albums, a sought-after collector’s record that is also popular with tropical DJs. We have added two bonus tracks from 1976, ‘Salsa y bembé’ and ‘Colorin colorao’ that were originally a 45 single, resulting a winning combination of familiar and obscure tunes of rich sonic variety. Presented in its original artwork and pressed on 180g vinyl. Recommended by DJ Bongohead of Peace & Rhythm ROUSE, CHARLES "Two Is One (180g)" (PURE SES19746 LP February 26 street date. It seems that every major jazz artist has a one-off sort of record in their discography, be it with strings, voices, spoken word or - as in this case - a foray into the funkier side of jazz. Charlie Rouse (going here as Charles Rouse) gets his chance on "Two Is One", a funky soul jazz excursion on Strata-East, the artist-run label where creativity and pushing boundaries was at the forefront. Playing mostly with a group of session musicians, Rouse put together an album that may stray a bit from his hard bop roots, but is nonetheless an enjoyable and at times inventive record. The style of music played here - sophisticated soul jazz with some post bop and spiritual jazz thrown in for good measure - is very much a product of its time. 1974 saw a whole slew of artists stretching the boundaries of what jazz music could be, combining elements from the past two decades into electric jazz adventures. The piano-less group that Rouse put together is a funky one, with lots of rhythmic playing behind either the searching solos of Rouse on the tenor or some inventive electric guitar work from either George Davis or Paul Metzke, who appear together on all but a couple of tracks. Calo Scott gets plenty of time to shine throughout on what sounds like an electrified cello, an unusual instrument for modern jazz to be sure, but one that manages to fit in just fine here. THUMBSCREW "Never Is Enough" (CUNEIFORM) RUNE478 LP/ CD February 26 street date. Currently one of the most exciting and active groups in boundary-pushing jazz is the collective trio Thumbscrew, who release their sixth album in seven years with "Never Is Enough". Constantly taking the simple 'guitar trio' line-up into new territories, their music is a masterclass of musical interplay and focused forward mommentum. "[Their releases] perfectly encapsulate the rare chemistry that these players have found together, and the musical conflagrations that can emerge when artists find likeminded souls with whom to collaborate." - DownBeat. "Three top avant jazzers with decades of experience among them create a distinctive band identity... contributing equally sans grandstanding... " - AllMusic.

4 MARS "Super Somali Sounds from the Gulf Of Tadjoura” (OSTINATO) OST010 CD/ LP March 5 street date. In 2019, after negotiations spanning many years, Ostinato Records became the first label granted access to the grand Archives of Radiodiffusion-Télévision de Djibouti (RTD), a vault of secrets and stories from East Africa. The first result in our Djibouti Archives series is a seminal anthology of 4 Mars, a 40-member Somali supergroup behind the most streamed and downloaded track on our Grammy-nominated Sweet As Broken Dates compilation. Turkish synths, Jamaican Reggae, American brass, Bollywood vocals, Egyptian and Yemeni rhythms, and Chinese and Mongolian flutes all rendezvous in a corner of East Africa that for centuries served as the world's most brisk trading hub, the midway point connecting Africa, Asia, and the Mediterranean. Ultimately, this is Somali music at its sassy, soulful, synthesized best. Warmly restored and remastered from digitized master reels and cassettes. Double LP housed in a luxurious matte-finished gatefold sleeve with a poster inspired by the political banners of 1980s Djibouti and a hardcover bookcase CD with a 12-page booklet. CALMON, WALDIR "Airport Love Theme/Afro Som” (MR BONGO) BRZ45085 7" February 19 street date. You know it's going to be a heavy record when DJ/collector Mr Thing asks you to keep a look out for a copy on your next digging trip to Brazil. Add on top of that, being sampled by on the track "Curls" on his "Madvillain" album! Taken from Waldir Calmon's "Waldir Calmon E Seus Multisons" album on Copacabana (1970); from looking at this unassuming record cover featuring a middle-aged man sporting an impressive pair of glasses you wouldn't expect it to become the fabric to one of the songs from the iconic "Madvillain" album. "Airport Love Theme", like its name suggests, falls into full-on lounge territory. It's feel good music made to be the soundtrack for a utopian world that never really was. Yet behind the silky-smooth groove is an addictive earworm waiting to be heard. "Afro Som", taken from the same album, pushes things in a different direction towards a sound that is more firmly rooted in the Brazilian tradition. This quirky 60s-breakbeat-funk groove is reminiscent of Jean Jacques Perrey's "E.V.A." in its melody and backbeat, where the Moog synthesizer of Perrey is replaced with a more orchestrated sound by Calmon. DI MELO "Kilario/Pernalonga" (MR BONGO) BRZ45083 7" February 19 street date. Di Melo's self-titled debut album has long been collectible for its irresistible Brazilian-funk sound, pleasing the Brazilian, B-Boy breaks, funk collectors, and sample hunters alike. For this release Mr Bongo have selected two of their favorite cuts from this cult album, "Kilariô" and "Pernalonga". "Kilariô" is a pure Brazilian-soul classic. All the right elements gel together, whilst Di Melo works his relaxed vocal magic over the top. "Pernalonga", with its catchy guitar and horns intro and loose break-beat drum, has the feel-good factor which some may recognize as one of the samples behind N.A.S.A featuring David Byrne and Chali 2na's "The People Tree" from 2009. MAGALHÃES E SUA "Xangô/Lambada (MR BONGO) BRZ45084 7" GUITARRA/OS PA Pauleira" February 19 street date. We head to the North of Brazil with this dancefloor monster, double-sider by Magalhães and Os Panteras. "Xangô" by Magalhães is taken from his "E Sua Guitarra" album from 1986, originally released on Gravasom Records. A stunning, driving Lambada track with haunting vocals and a compelling gusto energy. It has been gaining popularity over recent years with DJs and is a sure-fire get-out-of-jail dancefloor saver. On the flip, we find another biggy from Os Panteras, "Lambada Pauleira", also released on Gravasom Records, but a year later in 1987. It is best known for Joutro Mundo's fine re-edit of the track, but here we have it in its original form, in all its quirky brilliance. It is easy to see why, over the years, it has been a staple of some of Brazil's finest DJ's sets, such as Augusto Olivani (aka Trepanado). T.P. CLARK, ANNE "Psychometry: Live At (FLYING AC0003V LP Passionskirche, (2LP)" February 19 street date. First time on vinyl! After Anne Clark had been on tour for 10 years, playing mainly electronic music, the time had come to do an acoustic tour for the first time. In 1994 this live album was recorded in the Passionskirche in Berlin. Anne Clark chose the title "Psychometry" because this was an example of how objects, buildings and places can capture the energy of people and events. Clark already had a stable band with Andy Bell, Martyn Bates, Paul Downing, Gordon Reany, Michelle Chowrimootoo and Ida Baalsrud. Andy gave Anne a whole new range of sounds and offered her a completely new way of working with machines and computers, integrating acoustic instruments and straightforward emotional vocals. CLARK, ANNE "The Smallest Acts Of (FLYING AC0009J CD Kindness" February 19 street date. Originally released in 2008, this album consists of material written between 1996 and 2008 and is featuring Anne's long-term musical partners, Jeff Aug (guitars), Murat Parlak (piano), Jann Michael Engel (cello) and the late Niko Lai (drums and percussion). Anne also brought in the experimental artist and producer, Manuel Richter, creating an album of boundless musical styles from dense and complex electronics, to the barest of raw acoustic sounds, all enfolding deeply personal and deeply concerned texts. DIEWELTTRAUMFORSCHER "Die Ruckkehr Der Echten (BUREAU B) BB353CD CD Menschheit (1981-1990)" DIEWELTTRAUMFORSCHER “Die Ruckkehr Der Echten (BUREAU B) BB353LP LP Menschheit (1981-1990)" March 5 street date. Flusch. Knirk. Finom! Since July 14th 1981, Die Welttraumforscher have been researching the dream of the world, becoming cassette creators in the process. A mission which has seen them seek out the folklore of outer space, visiting the continent of Binika and marveling at the metropolis of Darktown. In transit, they find support and succor in Bretzelberg pop, toytown tempests, a starman, bricoleurs, 4-track recorders and instant architecture. How elated they are when they happen upon a successful sound piece, taking clandestine delight in the return of genuine humanity. This first Bureau B retrospective devoted to Die Welttraumforscher covers the Swiss project's early creative period from 1981 to 1990. The eccentric, heartwarming pop songs now sound like documents from a parallel world, interwoven with idiosyncratic fantasy, surreal stories and dreamlike apparitions. Considering their continuous and prolific output over the past four decades, it is quite remarkable how Die Welttraumforscher have remained under the radar for so long -- that said, their cadre of admirers includes such illustrious artists as Mouse On Mars , Barbara Morgenstern , and Felix Kubin . It thus gives Bureau B immeasurable pleasure to offer a closer insight into the work of this incomparable project. All tracks have been remastered. DIEWELTTRAUMFORSCHER "Wir Arbeiten Fur Die (BUREAU B) BB354CD CD Nachste Welt (1991-2012)" DIEWELTTRAUMFORSCHER "Wir Arbeiten Fur Die (BUREAU B) BB354LP LP Nachste Welt (1991-2012)" March 5 street date. A triumvirate obsessed with riddles, triplets on a cosmic expedition, Die Welttraumforscher delving into the depths of the sonic universe. Their research, so they say, knows no limits -- from the living room to the workshops of Sideria, taking in the enchanting City of Water, Leguan Rätselmann 's geometric songs, seeing their friends Kip Eulenmeister and Ohm Olunde . They gather up twinkling star sounds and forgotten noises from the attic. They also say: "Our work is for the world to come". The second collection sees Bureau B zoom in on the years 1992 to 2012 in the Welttraumforscher universe. A more pensive atmosphere of melancholy pervades the tracks documented herein, as if the more spherical musical journeys and expeditions undertaken by creator and sole member Christian Pfluger lead to increasingly enchanted worlds. It may be possible to trace pop-cultural references to artists like Andreas Dorau or The Residents , and yet the Welttraumforscher's music has a life all of its own which appears increasingly sui generis with every album. TREANOR, RIAN "Obstacle Scattering EP" (PLANET MU) ZIQ427 12"EP February 26 street date. Rian Treanor's "Obstacle Scattering EP" arrives in a flurry of disorienting rhythmic bursts and de-purposed rave hallmarks. The four-track EP follows the Yorkshire producer's acclaimed "File Under UK Metaplasm", an album that welded elements from the UK's sprawling dance music history with genre-breaking sounds from further afield. Here, Rian goes straight for the jugular with four tracks assembled specifically for the dancefloor. Playing with "the idea of sound being an obstacle that you have to get your body around," each track on the EP presents a suite of complications for adventurous ravers. These four obstacles are DJ tools with spikes - selected grooves that don't fit anywhere except together, mapping out Rian's constantly-shifting relationship with both the club and the legacy of boundary-pushing dance music. They feverishly demonstrate the outer limits of a streamlined sonic palette, devastating speakers and dancefloors in equal measure. Main Source's paean to the simple pleasures of relaxing with friends is built over two tried- and-tested samples. The dreamy, swoony sounds of Vanessa Kendrick's timeless ‘90% of Me Is You’ is ever- present during this stone-cold classic, while Sister Nancy's unmistakeable ‘Bam Bam’ lends several elements to the mix. Throw in some Skull Snaps and Sweet Charles and you've got the perfect soundtrack for a roll call of Large Professor's nearest and dearest. ‘Live at the Barbecue’ is rightly regarded as one of the best posse cuts of all time, and famous for showcasing the debut of one Nasty . While he delivers a dope verse full of quotables over drums from Bob James' oft-plundered ‘Nautilus’, credit is also due to the other guests. Fatal and Akinyele aren't disgraced in this company, and Large Professor tops it off with a rare verse of pure brag-rap. MAIN SOURCE "Peace Is Not The Word (MR BONGO) MRB7189 7" To Play" MAIN SOURCE "Peace Is Not The Word (MR BONGO) MRB7189R 7" To Play (indie exclusive- red v" February 19 street date. We'll get to the vocal content in a second, but first it's time to acknowledge what a patchwork tapestry of genius ‘Peace Is Not The Word To Play’ is in terms of production. Large Professor being a prodigy on the SP-1200 is well established, but the way he flips parts of MFSB's ‘TLC’ and Milly and Silly's obscure ‘Getting' Down for Xmas’ with a sprinkling of Lyn Collins here establishes his credentials in the top tier. Lyrically, it's a tour de force, with Main Source taking exception with the misuse of the word ‘peace’ by the hip- hop fraternity. With even the most homicidal of gangster rappers dropping it at the end of tracks at the time, time was overdue for some regulation. The album version makes its point pithily in a single verse, while the remix, included on the flip of this first ever 7" release, expands on the topic with new verses and some new samples too. It's a welcome reminder of the time when remixes were remixes - not just the identical track with the latest hot rappers joining in. When the film ‘White Men Can't Jump’ was released in 1992, an EP of music from the film was dropped almost simultaneously. That EP, cheekily titled ‘White Men Can't Rap’, featured a couple of exclusive gems, one of them a cut from Main Source called ‘Fakin' The Funk’. Opening with those unmistakable harmonies from Main Ingredient's ‘Magic Shoes’, the intro segues into a crisp beat borrowed from Grady Tate's frequently sampled ‘Be Black Baby’ from 1969. Throw in a sprinkle of Kool & The Gang and you've got a track that would fit seamlessly onto Main Source's masterpiece of an album, ‘’. Instead, it's the group's last hurrah, the final collaboration between K-Cut, Sir Scratch and Large Professor before the latter departed the trio. TALL BLACK GUY "Airplane Mode" (FAT BEATS) TBGP5001 LP March 5 street date. Generally speaking, albums are created over the course of a few weeks, months, or years. However when it comes to Airplane Mode, not only has it spanned the latter, but its DNA was formed across two continents, a multitude of significant life changes, and an overall renaming of the projects title. What started as a collaboration effort morphed in to a sonic space that Tall Black Guy used to highlight questions many of us frequently ask, but struggle to answer; Why am I here? Am I enough? What makes me happy? How do I move forward? What does real love feel like? Although the answers may be different for us all, Airplane Mode sets the path that the listeners use to reach their own conclusion. In closing, rarely does 40 minutes capture the essence of so many different facades of an artist’s process, and personal transition. As intimate as the album may be, Tall Black Guy leaves room for people to shape their own interpretation by what they bring to the listening experience. Airplane Mode demands your complete consideration, and is intended to be consumed without skips, or interruptions. In other words, sit back, relax, and put your mind in….Airplane Mode! BAKERLOO "Bakerloo (incl. CD)" (MAGIC BOX) MBLP1026 LP February 26 street date. This legendary Midlands three-piece formed in 1968 and went down a storm in London's underground clubs before recording this classic with producer Gus Dudgeon (who went on to fame for his work with David Bowie, Rod Stewart and Elton John). Originally issued in August 1969, it's an exciting blend of blues, jazz, rock and other influences, distinguished by the superb guitar playing of Dave Clempson, but their line-up was never stable and they'd split by the end of the year. It's presented here with its original gatefold artwork, as well as an insert containing background notes and images. The package also includes a CD with five bonus tracks. BOLAN, MARC & T. "Shadowhead (180g)" (DEMON) DEMREC873 LP REX February 12 street date. 's passions included the blues, soul, rock 'n' roll, hard rock and disco-soul, and his intent to explore these genres are all visited on this collection of classic album tracks and singles. His influences - Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton/Cream and Bob Dylan are all apparent amongst the material on "Shadowhead", but the music here is unique. Bolan's creative fire produced a phenomenal catalogue of work: the material on this album was recorded over five years (1972-1976), in seven studios, in five countries. This record provides insights into Bolan's creative process whilst keeping the essence of the music in its classic form. "Shadowhead" showcases the development of tracks such as "Precious Star" and "Groove A Little", and a track that made its public debut on the CD release, "Blues Jam (Dreamy Lady Session)". Other tracks reveal many of the instruments and sounds from the master tapes to enable the working processes to be more clearly understood. SUEDE "Royal Albert Hall - 24th (DEMON) DEMREC844 LP March 2010 (3LP-180g/clear " January 29 street date. At the request of the Teenage Cancer Trust, after a seven-year hiatus Suede reformed to play what they believed would be a one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall on March 24, 2010. As a result of the extraordinary reaction from the audience, the band decided to reform permanently, and have gone on to record three new studio albums. Featuring exhilarating versions of their most popular songs, including ‘’, ‘Animal Nitrate’, ‘Trash’, ‘Saturday Night’ and ‘The Wild Ones’, luckily this incredible performance was captured on tape, and is now available again as a 3LP set, pressed on 180 gram clear vinyl. The inner sleeves feature Paul Khera's beautiful photos of the event. SUEDE "See You In The Next (DEMON) DEMREC871 LP Life (180g)" February 12 street date. After their huge success throughout the 90s, Suede called it a day (for the first time) in 2003. The Suede Information Service (SIS) compiled and issued this special collection of demos, acoustic versions and other curios in 2004. Only 2000 CDs were manufactured, and these were distributed free to the members of the SIS. Whilst some of the tracks have appeared on the Edsel reissues, several tracks have not been reissued since 2004. This release also marks the first time this collection has been issued on vinyl. SUEDE "The London Suede (DEMON) DEMREC872 LP (180g)" February 12 street date. Released in March 1993, "Suede" was the fastest-selling debut album ever in the UK. At the time, the album's release in the US was hampered by an injunction from an existing US act called Suede. As a result, the band's subsequent album releases in the US were ‘branded’ as being by The London Suede, but the first album was never re-branded.

DISQUIET "Disquiet" (TROST) TROST202CD CD DISQUIET "Disquiet" (TROST) TROST202LP LP March 5 street date. Disquiet is a special quartet that came together on the stage of the Konfrontationen festival in 2018. Initially formed and lead by Austrian electronic musician Christof Kurzmann, the project is reflecting the difficult political situation of the refugee movements to Europe -- and how politicians deal with it in a selfish and unhumanitarian way. Christof Kurzmann, Sofia Jernberg, Martin Brandlmayr (Radian), and Joe Williamson reinterpret and process in quiet waves of emotions and thoughtful lyrics -- concentrated music between serenity and sheer beauty, especially when Kurzmann and Jernberg sing a duet with Joe McPhee's lyrics. Personnel: Christof Kurzmann - lloopp, vocals; Sofia Jernberg - vocals; Martin Brandlmayr - drums; Joe Williamson - double bass. PARKER, CHARLIE "His Finest Recordings (4CD)” (ENLIGHTENME EN4CD9193 CD February 12 street date. SPIRALE "Spirale" (MAG27) MAG27 LP February 19 street date. Released way back in 1974, the lone, self-titled effort from Spirale is an album notable for its lack of electronic instruments. It also has some of those loveable low-budget production flaws that are so often heard in obscure 1970s Italian progressive music. Quite an energetic jazz-rock ensemble excursion, with excellent brass arrangements and improvisation. Other instruments used include violin, drums, piano and various percussions. There are some folk overtones on "Peperoncino," and the brief but pretty "Una Ballata per Yanes" seems to come as much from Vince Guaraldi as Dave Brubeck. Spirale were a jazz-rock band, which would be known later as "Folk Magic Band" and quite renown for their participation to international jazz festivals. Their first and only LP with the original bandname could be compared in style to ethno-prog band such as Maad (Italy) or Embryo (). E-piano, bass and drums provide a light, groovy carpet of obstinatos for the lyric excursions of trumpet, saxophone and flute. The mood is breezy and absorbing, the rhythms are often veined of South-American or Indian suggestions VENABLE, ALLY "Heart Of Fire" (RUF RUF1283 CD February 26 street date. With "Heart Of Fire", Texas's favourite new gunslinger Ally Venable is coming off the ropes swinging. Defying dark times and rolling up the amps, this fourth release from the acclaimed singer- songwriter is a record to rattle your speakers and signpost better times ahead. Still in her early twenties, the guitarist's breakneck two decades have moved as fast as her fingers, her path winding from childhood church choirs to the teenage influence of local heroes like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Miranda Lambert. Early releases "No Glass Shoes" (2016) and "Puppet Show" (2018) earned her international fans, Top 10 chart placings and ETX Awards, but it was 2019's Billboard-charting "Texas Honey" and house-rocking sets on that year's Blues Caravan tour that sent her stratospheric. LOS SUNDOWNS "The Los Sundowns (EP)” (LECHEHOUSE) LECH002 12"EP February 19 street date. The Los Sundowns, a breezy record of Psychedelic Soul, conceptualized by Beto Martinez (Grammy-winning Guitarist/Producer - Grupo Fantasma, Brownout, Money Chicha) and Daniel Villarreal (Drummer and DJ - Dos Santos). Written, Recorded and Produced by Martinez at his studio Lechehouse Music and featuring a host of friends across the 6 tracks, the reverb-laden platter conjures the sound of Latin American balladeers and crooners like Los Angeles Negros and Los Pasteles Verdes, updating the vibe and transporting the listener to a beachside hang from sunup to sundown. NIGHT OWLS "You Got To Be A Man (F-SPOT) FSPT1019 7" b/w Gimme Little Sign" February 19 street date. This brand new 45 filled with the funky reggae grooves from Producer Dan Ubick on Guitar/ Percussion, Blake Colie on Drum Kit, Dave Wilder on Bass, and Roger Rivas on Organ, evoke tones and a feel that could be mistaken as a lost gem of the 1960’s. MORTON VALENCE "Black Angel Drifter" (COW PIE) COWFIVECD CD MORTON VALENCE "Black Angel Drifter" (COW PIE) COWFIVELP LP February 26 street date. ’Black Angel Drifter’ is an album of unorthodox ’country’ music and unlike anything you've heard before. This, the seventh studio offering from urban country duo Morton Valence (Anne Gilpin and Robert ‘Hacker’ Jessett), started life as their experimental side-project back in 2016. Legendary UK country label Cow Pie Ltd'’s - established in 1978 by BJ Cole and Hank Wangford - sensibilities were especially tweaked and they were convinced it was time this spectacular album finally got the airing it has always deserved, remastered and repackaged for a new era. Alongside Gilpin and Hacker, Alan Cook's sublime pedal steel guitar is omnipresent throughout the album. ‘Black Angel Drifter’ is an alt-country album that puts the rulebook through the shredder and starts again. MOGGI (PIERO "News! News! News!" (MUSICA PER MPILP005 LP UMILIANI) March 5 street date. The one and only official reissue of a stunning work by Moggi, better known as Piero Umiliani. “News! News! News!” (1979) was originally released in few copies on the small imprint Sound Work Shop, both label and recording studio owned by the cult maestro. Musica Per Immagini gave another chance to its eleven amazing electronic and jazz tracks played by some of the best musicians who took part in the golden age of Italian music libraries. This sought-after album is the way the composer tried to tell us what were the experimental and futuristic sounds of the old media world, especially on paper, to which he has always been drawn. The titles of the tracks refer, not surprisingly, to a series of technical terms and some tools of journalism. “News! News! News!” thus represents the 'draft' of a different story of a fascinating music without borders, not necessarily composed for documentaries or films. Simply brilliant!

386 DX "Biggest Smash Hits" (STAALPLAAT) SPZETA LP March 5 street date. Alexei Shulgin's outdated 386, now serving as a musician. Performing classic rock's biggest smash hits! Created by Russian artist Alexei Shulgin, 386 DX was "the world's first cyberpunk band." Known for its live performances on city streets and in nightclubs, the performer is a dingy, singing PC that runs Windows 3.1. Previously (partly) released on CD. Edition of 300. EMIKA & PAUL FRICK "In Parallel )pink vinyl)" (IMPROVISATIO IMPXINS001EP 12"EP February 19 street date. Emika and Paul Frick collaborate and make magical music from pianos, a vibraphone robot and synths that play themselves. Their music feels like rainbow drops, raining color, light bouncing from crystal gemstones. Reminiscent of Erik Satie , Laurie Anderson , with a melodic glitchy nod to Aphex Twin . This is music that channels some seriously beautiful light. It's a great record to both wake up to and reflect under the moonlight. CNCPT brings the Berlin experimental vibes, turning them into what they perhaps should have always been (if Emika and Paul Frick weren't so in love with sound art minimalism). A perfect match for the flipside. A very satisfying A and B realization on the vinyl. Includes digital download, score book, and synth midi files. Pink vinyl. ICE EYES "Vicious Circles EP" (HYPERMEDIU HMDM009 12"EP February 26 street date. Mighty Athenian duo Ice_Eyes have assembled an action- packed six-track EP for Hypermedium, making fine use of their futuristic mechanics and ultra-fine sonic weaponry. Ice Eyes's approach on ‘Vicious Circles’ simulates a plethora of dark materials mixed together, sculpted with a laser light cutter, as reflected on the self-titled track. This nexus ushers the listeners to throw themselves to an eerie storm of outstanding grime-leaning kinetics like ‘HYDRO’ or to the claustrophobic space of ‘Folded’. The gabber-ish breakcore rhythmology of ‘BH Agony’ creates an urge to frantically gasp for air, while the elegiac euphoria of ‘Crystalbody’ is the centrepiece of its full rave energy. This eumorphic projection of pseudo cylindrical body phenomena is always present and changes the mood effectively. ‘Endless Clicks’ outro gives away that different twist of mood shifts by formulating hazy vocal phrases and circling stuttering crunchy layered beats arrangements. All in all, ‘Vicious Circles’ creates an idiosyncratic portrait of club cult ecstasy mood shifts. MINIMAL VIOLENCE "DESTROY > physical (TRESOR) TRESOR322EP 12"EP REALITY psychic < TRUST Phase Two" March 5 street date. Minimal Violence return to Tresor Records with Phase Two of their DESTROY ---> [physical] REALITY [psychic] <--- TRUST series. This five-track 12" kicks off straight into the dust storm of "Dreams for Sale", a Lynchian trip through explosive breakbeat manipulation, sirens and cries deep into the abyss. True to form, Ashlee Luk and Lika P harness raw tensions and lock into the flow on "Mankind". An EBM monster, its bass sequences lay writhing non-stop, over a beat in full propulsion. Drawing to a close, the kick drum falls out leaving a suspended room full of action. The Canadian duo then follows up with the sensational Hard Delivery, a 175bpm hi-NRG gabber barrage. Smeared synths hint at a melody, like a pair of pitched-up foghorns beaten down in a harsh rhythm world, as disfigured barks amp up the pressure. "Prey Drive" is the straightest techno track, its industrial bassline a cornerstone to grip onto, as its elements pile in on top. Closing track "1992" wears its identity on its sleeve, a pure rave track inspired by the early '90s sound. Distorted drums and synthesized strings coat a gnarled breakbeat with paranoid malice. Sounding like nothing else right now, its influences are chewed-up and spat-out. There is no sound capable of sitting still, just a mutant sonic environment of destructive movement. 180 gram vinyl; includes download code. MUSLIMGAUZE "Narcotic (2LP)" (STAALPLAAT) ARCHIVE054LP LP March 5 street date. Narcotic is perhaps one example of an album in both camps of the Muslimgauze spectrum. The album denotes the expertise acquired in oriental percussion by Bryn Jones after a crescent development and practice through action, part tribal, part ambient with shades of texturized noise, glitch details and field recordings. Intoxicant atmospheres of exotic madness, where the basic musical premise is constituted by the consistent tribal beats from darbukas and tambourines contrasting radically with the eerie sounds from organic noise, distortions, and minimal jams. The D side contains two bonus tracks taken from the Iran CD. Recorded, engineered, mixed by: John Delf. Previously released as CD. SELM "TiiiER/Post-Adrenaline (OPAL TAPES) OPAL199 LP (2LP)" February 26 street date. Two years after the release of 'Kreise', Selm have once again peered out from the torture racked enclave they call a studio. Originally conceived as two separate EP's and later stacked into an all-consuming album over 44 minutes, 'TiiiER/Post-Adrenaline' pushes Selm's agenda of black dwarf techno and physically exhausting industrial churning to new levels. 'TiiiER/Post-Adrenaline' is hyper-modern music that sounds like it's made from air, stone and rust. THE PERSON "Tide Life" (GROWING BIN) GBR031LP LP March 5 street date. After the heaviest of years, it should be time to take a little weight off with the playful sounds of The Person . Mapping its own Bermuda Triangle between dub-pop, sugary synth wave, and Balearic boogie, Tide Life transports Compass Point to Soggy Bottom, providing maximum fun, sun and bitmap escapism. The eagle-eared may recognize The Person from the aspirational Italo-rockers Steaming Jeans , whose chalet-ready romp on Bordello A Parigi scored a Winter Olympic gold back in early 2020. Now left to her own devices, Minna Wight swaps the slopes for a jet ski and takes a wave race from Summer Bay to Monkey Island across 11 cuts of vintage oddball pop. Whether she's borrowing Brenda 's Beach Balls for the dubby daydream of "Snail Café" and "The Place", serving lost library cues to SNES club scenes on "Barry R Reef" and "Elastic Shoes" or spinning high school slow jams into synth soul ballads like "Nice Feeling", Minna disguises serious musicianship behind a naive aesthetic. Disarmed by charm, you're powerless to resist her tidal pull. Import Titles >> RAP/HIP HOP >>

Elzhi, the “Syllable Sensei,” is back again with a highly anticipated release titled “Seven Times Down Eight Times Up,” This 12-track LP is a collage of memories and metaphors layered atop beats crafted by up-and-coming producer JR Swiftz. With collabs from Detroit artists, Monica Blaire and Fes Rock on two of the album's stand-out tracks, Elzhi’s new masterpiece showcases his ability to create meaningful concepts while Detroit’s own comedian and “Real Hip Hop Advocate” Foolish provides commentary throughout the album. As one of Elzhi’s most cohesive releases to date, his wordsmithing abilities paint images of royalty, excellence, and zombies wearing Gucci, all with an underlying message of resilience. “Seven times Down Eight Times Up” is the mantra for a year that has seen lots of “downs,” and reminds us that no matter what we're faced with, we will remain undefeated, and get back up after being knocked down by this machete-wielding maniac we call “life.” ILL BILL "La Bella Medusa (2LP/white)” (UNCLE HOWIE) UHR5707 LP February 19 street date. With a hardcore mind & explicit tongue, prolific NY rapper/producer ILL BILL keeps the spirit of underground hip-hop alive with an affinity for dusty sampling & a lyrical spectrum that ranges from vulgar & horrific to deeply insightful & pained. Bill was influenced by the violent & profane, employing dark subject matter to convey messages that often had more depth beneath the surface shock factor. BEATLES "Beatles In Tokyo (AVA AVA2D6 CD (CD+DVD+book)" February 26 street date. With work on "Revolver" just completed, played their first ever dates in Asia in late June 1966. By that time they had grown wearyof the rigours and confinements of touring, but Japan was a novelty they were looking forward to. Includes the entire NTV Channel Four broadcast, an exclusive DVD (NTSC region) containing live footage and interviews, and a 90 page hand-numbered hardback book with background notes and archival imagery.
