Saturday, March 17th.

09.10 a.m.: Arrival in Montevideo, Carrasco airport.

10.30 p.m.: Departure to Punta del Este. We will have a light lunch aboard the bus.

2.00 p.m.: Punta del Este beach and tour of the city.

7.00 p.m.: Sunset in Punta Ballena.

8.00 p.m.: Dinner at Casapueblo, in Punta Ballena.

10.30 p.m.: Return to Montevideo.

00.00 a.m.: Check-in at Hotel Europa.

Sunday, March 18th.

11.00 a.m.: Pick up by bus and first part of Montevideo tour.

1.00 p.m.: Lunch at Mercado del Puerto.

3.30 p.m.: Pick up by bus for the second part of Montevideo tour. Football match at Estadio Centenario.

7.00 p.m.: Plaza Gomensoro, Drum ensemble Elumbé. Candombe session –with explanations in English.

8:30 p.m.: Dinner at Restaurant La Perdiz.

Monday, March 19th.

8:15 Departure from Hotel Europa

8.45 – 10.30 a.m.: The financial industry in Uruguay: a bit of history, current situation and perspectives. Pablo Montaldo, President of the Montevideo Stock Exchange, and serial entrepreneur. He will also talk a bit about one of his startups –Gato Dumas, Colegio de Cocineros,

10.45 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.: Transportation to and visit of Plan Ceibal’s premises. Ceibal is the Uruguayan implementation of Nicholas Negroponte’s One Laptop Per Child initiative.

1.00 – 2.30 p.m.: Transportation to Jacksonville and lunch at La Pausa, close to Zonamerica.

2.30 – 4.30 p.m.: The Zonamerica Business Model. Isidoro Hodara, Director of Zonamerica, and Mercedes Steneri, Marketing VP, Zonamerica. Tour of Zonamerica.

4.30 – 6.00 p.m.: The Tata Consultancy Services Experience in Uruguay. Speaker TBD.

Transportation back to Montevideo.

7.30 p.m. –> : Free evening. Suggestion: Chivito dinner at Lo de Marcos, Av. Sarmiento y Luis de la Torre (a block away from ORT).

2.15 – 4.00 p.m.: The paper pulp industry in the southern cone of South America: the Uruguayan case. Alberto Brause, Director, UPM (formerly Botnia).

4.15 – 6.15 p.m.: Case discussion: Insis Ltda. and the ERP Software Industry. The discussion will be moderated by Enrique Kramer, Assistant Dean, Management Studies. Core issue of the discussion: Does Insis stand any chance of surviving in the industry?
